#133, "finding the time"

My bgb triplets are 7 years old, and since their birth I have managed to stay more or less the same weight (well okay, maybe 5lbs heavier). I have always thought I was doing a pretty good job maintaining my figure, eventhough I do not exercise...other than walk the dog occassionally. As the years go by, though, I'm noticing its getting harder..so this year I wanted to start an exercise program that I can somehow incoporate into my busy life. This is a typical day, however..wake up at 6:00 get myself ready for work and then the kids ready for school, drive the kids to school, drive to work (another 45 minutes), work an 8 hour day, pick the kids up from afterschool program, make supper, eat, clean dishes, help the kids with their homework, bedtime for kids, make the kids lunches for the next day..its 10:00...and I'm wiped. I'm sure there are more of you out there that go through the same routine. How does one find some time for exercise. Oh by the way, my husband is never home before 7pm and is gone at least 2 weeks out of the month. Unfortunately for me that is just what his job requires and it pays the bills. I guess that leaves me with the weekends. I would love to hear some other stories, about how we manage our busy life with triplets.

Can't say I'm a success story at this point BUT, when I worked in Detroit I would walk the stairs for 20min at lunchtime. I worked in an office building w/lots of stairs. Even got my future dh to walk w/me sometimes.

There are lots of "at desk" exercises you can do. Just sitting in your chair you can "crunch" your stomach. I know this isn't an ideal solution but it wouldn't impact your current schedule too much.

Good luck.
