#16128, "update on the Wilds"

I haven't been around in a LONG time for lots of reasons but have thought about a lot of you guys often !!!
We are finally staring to feel settled in our third house in a year and now may have to move again but it will work out however God has planned so who am I to argue ?? We may have to move tobe closer to a transplant center.
Braden's drs here at home- both groups of GIs in town- have been really crappy to us and have washed their hands of his saying he is too complicated after I requested records...it's all a very long ugly story...but I think it has worked out for the best. Our insurance has only a few transplant centers that we would consider as in network right now and the leading candidate is Cincinnati Children's. Braden's doctors (other specialists in town who have taken over the GI role temporarily)have found several very disturbing things that make them believe that Braden will need an intestinal and liver transplant soon.

We have been living with this possibility since Braden was 6 days old and are grateful that for whatever reason God has allowed Braden to do so relatively well so far.

My kids started 6th grade how did that happen ?!?!?!?!? I guess I blinked They are really enjoying the freedoms that come with being in middle school. They are so incredibly different in every way imaginable people have a hard time believing they are triplets. They are going through typical pre-teen type stuff that has definitely been a challenge !!! Braden has been acting very strangely and not at all himself as a consequence of his liver disease so that is another layer of stress for all of us- it's hard for my 11 year olds to be understanding of his behavior but I think they are doing an admirable job of trying !!!

Thank you to those of you who sent emails to check up on us- I have had terrible email problems since my techie husband set up email accts for the kids so haven't been able to rerieve or send emails very much at all for a while.
I look forward to reading and catching up on all of you

Lorraine

Lorraine,

I'm so glad you checked in. I sent an email and hadn't heard anything so I was worried. Glad to know it's just technical difficulties!

I check your website frequently and you last posting had me concerned. I'm glad you seem to be nearing an action plan for Braden with doctors that care about him.

I don't know how the kids grow up so fast. My trio started 5th grade and are just too big for my liking. I won't even begin to tell you about having a high school son! LOL!

Glad to have you back on the boards!

Lorraine,

It is good to see you post again. I had lost Braden's web address, and have wondered how he was doing.

I have a friend with a 12 year old triplet son with a very rare immune disorder, NEMO, who has just had a bone marrow transplant. I don't know if there is a network of families going through similar situations, but I'm sure you have a lot you could share. I know Braden's complications are much more involved, but she would be a great one to talk to since you both have one of your triplets sick with immune disorders, and they are close in age. If you would like her contact information, you can email me at Heather@MOSTonline.org.

Lorraine,
I will keep you, Braden and the rest of your family in my prayers. You are really under a tremendous amount of stress.

I agree that Cincinnati Children's is a great hospital. One of my triplets has had 62 airway surgeries down there. It''s worth the 5 hour drive for us.

it's good to see you around again. I'm glad to hear that Braden is doing well but it must be frustrating to have doctors to say that he is "too complicated". Isn't that why they went to med school?

Lorraine,

It is good to hear from you. Sorry that you may have to move again. That is so hard to do. I hate packing, but I think I hate unpacking more! But I'm sure you will do fine with it. Sorry you have had problems with the drs. Hope the new ones are much more in tune with what Braden needs. We will keep him in our prayers.

'Sorry to hear about your potential move, and about the potential nearness of the transplant. I've missed you greatly and am glad to see you here.

Please give me a call or shoot me your number as I had to replace my phone due to a defect that wouldn't allow me to transfer my list of numbers and have lost all of my precious phone connections.

I continue to pray for you and your family.

Thanks everyone !!! More news updates on the horizon - and all good (I think ??) possibilities...so I am looking forward to updating with good news I guess it is considered good news not to have to move again maybe and possibly only needing one transplant instead of two ??? I guess it's all relative huh ?
