Good morning everyone. We're into February already. The time is flying by.

No questions this week. Open forum. Let us know what's going on in your life!

January was very busy for our family. Lots of birthdays, culminating in my trio's birthday on Friday, Jan. 31st. My babies are 12! They are growing like weeds and will be taller than I am by their next birthday. One's already made it past me.

On their birthday, we sing to them at 8:08, 8:09, and 8:10 AM. Then they were off to school with 4 dozen donuts to share with their class. Their teacher also had the whole class sing Happy Birthday 3 times to them. Very cute. Their class is "buddies" with a 2nd grade class. That teacher heard from a mom friend of mine about the trio's birthday. So she had her class sing a song to them while my boys wore funny birthday hats.

They didn't want a birthday party. So we celebrated by going to Ifly, an indoor skydiving place. It was their first time. My gosh, they loved it! They were smiling so wide I could see all their brackets on their braces! An amazing experience. Then out to dinner.

We spent yesterday in Chinatown in SF. My aunt is visiting from NY so we walked around SF. What a beautiful day. Tried a new restaurant and it was great.

Oldest son is having trouble with his asthma. Finals were last week and it flared up very badly. We'll see how the finals went but we are watching him very closely. He has since developed a cold so maybe that was it.

There are a lot of triplet parents facing difficult situations with their kids on this board and the main forum. Keep Katie, Brady, and all the others in your thoughts that they get some good medical news soon.

Have a wonderful week.

Sharon

Happy Monday!

I'm not a Monday person but am desperately trying to get through the day happy. I've built up this hate for Mondays and I really have to work through it.

We had a pretty good weekend. Just the normal clean the house, do the laundry, church, etc.

Cameron (15) came home from a friend's Saturday night very sick. His temp spiked to 104 during that night. I was able to keep it to the low 100's yesterday but it was back at 103 this morning when he woke up. He begged to go to school, but I wouldn't let him. I've been giving him Amoxi and Advil. I hope he is better tonight or we will have to make a visit to the Dr.

The 2nd of the broken arm gang will get his cast off tomorrow. We will finally be through with the broken arms. Thank goodness!

I hope everyone has a great Monday as I pretend to like the day and to be happy about being at work.

Lisa

Hello!

Dh took me away for the weekend! We left on Friday morning and came back on Sunday afternoon. No place special. Just to his brothers cabin in the northern part of the state. I didn't cook one meal so ended up eating horribly! Fish fry one night, big @ss omelette breakfast Saturday morning, wine, brie and crackers Saturday afternoon (at the cabin) and burgers Saturday night. We spent the evening ice fishing with some friends on Saturday night. I haven't ice fished in YEARS. Between the burger and the fact that I drank a bit more than usual, I didn't feel the greatest Sunday morning, lol!

Sharon,
Happy b-day to your boys!!! The indoor skydiving place sounds so cool!
Thank you for keeping Katie in your thoughts. I would also like to add prayers and thoughts for Jane P's sweet little Anna http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/annacusatis

She is very ill right now and needs our thoughts and prayers.

Sharon! Happy Birthday to your 12 year olds! We'll see if mine make it to their 12th birthdays -- sometimes it seems doubtful...LOL!

Incredible weather here lately. Cool in the mornings -- about 32F, but sunny and warm during the day. Spent a little bit of time at the beach yesterday. Amazing how 3 boys who are rubbing each other raw in the house, can work joyfully together building sand castles (of course this was after some playful...and some not-so-playful...pushing and shoving on top of a sand cliff playing King of the Hill).

Alex went with a friend for pizza and rollerskating Saturday night...so the rest of us had dinner out at a Chinese place (Alex is allergic to peanuts, eggs and shell fish, so there is not much Chinese he can eat or likes). What a difference having only two kids! And not too expensive. Getting soup, a chicken salad, and one main dish, we all ate well for under $30...plus tip.

We joke about the time dw and I went out for Chinese when she was pregnant. We got soup and one main dish. The bill was $11 and we joked that it would be the cheapest meal for a family of 5 that we would ever have!

The boys and I went food shopping at Costco this afternoon -- $300 and I still have some major food shopping (another $150 probably) to do at another store tomorrow! (not everything is cheaper or available at Costco...and the $300 includes a piece of pizza each for dinner...and a case of beer for me) That should do us for the week, plus. I bought some treats/snacks for the kids I should not have gotten. I did not realize that the dried mangos Calder wanted were $13...and the bag of frozen waffle fries were totally unnecessary. Well...if dw complains, she can do the shopping! I do most of the big shopping, and dw hits the store occasionally for items we are running out of before I have a chance to go.

Well, I am running on and on here -- the boys and dw are in bed, I am enjoying the quiet and a small Scotch and Kaluha on ice before retiring for the night. A good Monday...as far as Mondays go.

We have a meeting with the school tomorrow afternoon about Calder's learning disability. Not a major one (audio processing problems) but one that can be worked around if the teachers, school and district are aware of it and take it seriously.

I am giving a photography workshop at the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite in mid-April, so that has my attention...2.5 months can zip by and I have a lot to do. I also have a photo show that goes up at another gallery on March 2nd...and lots to do for that also. Actually, I am going to be way too busy these next couple of months. Spring will be here before I know it and I am still trying to enjoy winter.

Dw wants to take a 5 week trip in the van across the country to show the Boys the East Coast -- New York, Wash DC, etc.. I am trying to get my mind around that. Five weeks in the van with 3 12 year olds...going to places I am not all that interested in (and yes I know it would be good for the boys to see some "history", etc.). I'd rather go camping and backpacking...Washington DC will always be there...but wilderness is a fragile thing. It makes my brain hurt.

Enough! Good Night! I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi everyone. It's fun reading what everyone is up to. We aren't doing much besides working. I am redoing two bedrooms so I am doing a lot of shopping for accessories and a couple of night stands. Haven't quite found what I am looking for though.

We finally booked our flights to Florida for spring break. I need to get out of the cold and snow. I've had enough. I can't wait to feel the warm sunshine on my face again.

Work is going good. New semester, new students. I am still getting to know who they are and what learning disability they are dealing with. I usually have 11th and 12th graders, but this semester I have 2 10th grade classes. There is such a maturity difference! But the kids are still a lot of fun and quite a challenge. Makes the job interesting.

I am still trying to decide if I want to work summer school this year. I am getting really burned out on that whole idea. I think I have done it for about 11 years now. I always work with elementary special needs over the summer. Special needs meaning severe behavior issues. We'll have to see if I am up for that again. I will have to make the commitment pretty soon. I work with one of my closest friends so I feel obligated to do it. Decisions, decisions!

Jason 30 The Chief Meteorologist
Chris 30 The College Student
Tim 30 The college grad

I love hearing their versions of their childhood memories!!
