#21967, "Monday Updates, February 15, 2009"

Good morning, everyone! Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day and get the chance to enjoy a day off of work today for President's Day.

My boys had a 4 -day weekend. On Friday, "B" had his last two wisdom teeth removed. The first day was painful until we upped his pain meds. By the next day, he turned the corner and only took a pain pill before bed. The healing power of the young. Other than some chipmunk cheeks, he's fine!

Here are a few questions to get us going this week.

1. Do you or your children write thank you notes for birthday gifts, etc.?

2. What's for dinner tonight?

3. Are you a coupon cutter?

4. Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport?

5. How do you get your news - tv, newspaper, internet, other?

Group hug for Vaughn who's facing a lot of important decisions this week. Hope all goes the way you want, Vaughn.

Have a great week everyone.

1. Do you or your children write thank you notes for birthday gifts, etc.? Yes, and they will be writing a lot of them after their graduation party in June.

2. What's for dinner tonight? probably spaghetti

3. Are you a coupon cutter? DH is a coupon cutter

4. Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport? I like to watch figure skating.

5. How do you get your news - tv, newspaper, internet, other? internet and TV. I watch the early local news and then Good Morning America everyday before work.

I haven't had time to be on here lately. Three high school seniors are keeping me so busy with college visits, and all the different things to do, order, plan for.....plus we are making lists of things to spiff up around the house before graduation time.
Looks like 2 kids will be going to the same University in Ohio and Jessica will stay home to attend community college and then transfer to Western Michigan.

I am keeping Vaughn in my thoughts and prayers. I feel so bad for you, Vaughn.

1. Do you or your children write thank you notes for birthday gifts, etc.? Three of the kids write their own, but with Katie I will write the message and she signs her name.

2. What's for dinner tonight? Whatever I decide to pick up at the grocery store this afternoon, lol!

3. Are you a coupon cutter? No, but I should.

4. Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport? If I think about it, I will. I usually just watch figure skating

5. How do you get your news - tv, newspaper, internet, other? Local news and newspaper. I try to stay away from the 24 hour newstations. TMI sometimes.

The kids have today off so I'm putting off studying until tonight. We have an afternoon of dentist appointments so time is limited.

Oldest dd had her Winter Ball last night. Ohh to be that young again! She had a blast, but didn't get home until 2am. I was zonked out on the couch so I did not realize that she was out that late until she woke my up. Dh had a bird when he found out and chewed her a new one. The dance lasted until around 11pm and then they went to a friends house to watch a few movies.

Well, dh and I did something I swore I would never do unless absolutely necessary....we slurged on a big @ss LCD tv. I swore we were not going to do this until every one of our tv's died. I am not a big tv bug and couldn't give a rodents behind about that kind of thing, but it was something dh really wanted. He wants to mount it on the wall, but I seriously don't think it's even going to FIT on the wall. If it does, it will take up the entire wall (it's a relatively small wall).

My hard work is paying off! I aced my two exams this Friday! A definate confidence booster!

Have a great week everyone and thinking of you Vaughn.

Ooh- we almost got a new tv so dh could use our friends apple tv thing to watch the olympics. I am so glad we did not as it is not in the budget , but feel bad as Dh only wants to watch a few things ever - world cup soccer, world cup rugby and olympics! Enjoy your

Good Morning/Monday, everyone!

I had a great weekend doing all the things I love -- camping, walking in the redwoods, photographing, helping others to photograph, showing my photographs and best of all hanging out with some great people. And I had my boys with me -- and my friends (who were giving the photo workshop I was helping with) also had a 12 year old boy and they all had a blast. I felt zero stress all weekend.

I can feel a little of the stress building back up again because this week is crunch time, and because of the long weekend I can't get a hold of the legal services I need until tomorrow (still enough time, though -- take deep breaths Vaughn!)

I have what the doctor called a painless migrane -- no headache, but part of my face goes numb. And since it only happens to me in times of stress, I can use the numbing as a sign that I need to relax and find ways to reduce the stress and whatever is causing it. Kinda neat. Right now, my upper left cheek is tingling...telling me it is time to find something to laugh about, wrestle with the boys, have a beer, take a walk along the ocean, or some other way to reaffirm how wonderful life is and that all this (life) is just a plain miracle.

This divorce stuff is all unfortunate, but it will all work out one way or another -- the sun will still rise and set...and I will enjoy it all.

1. Do you or your children write thank you notes for birthday gifts, etc.? Yes!!!!!

2. What's for dinner tonight? Marianne has the day off, so that is not my worry today.

3. Are you a coupon cutter? Only for Take-and-bake pizzas!

4. Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport? No -- and no favorite. Growing up in SoCal and living on the coast in NorCA, winter sports do not involve snow nor ice.

5. Local newspaper and online -- BBC and NPR

We had a snow make up day, so we were all at school. I sure could have used a day off.

1. Do you or your children write thank you notes for birthday gifts, etc.? I am really bad about this one...I always mean to do it, and sometimes we write them all out and forget to mail them.

2. What's for dinner tonight? Tacos

3. Are you a coupon cutter? YES!! It is a hobby of mine

4. Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport? Love to watch them - I love watching ski jumping, but most of the sports are fun to watch.

5. How do you get your news - tv, newspaper, internet, other? I am married to a news junkie so we read it, watch it, and absorb way more than is good for the soul.

Sharon - aren't kids amazing?!?!?

Vaughn - hoping all goes well for you and your stress level decreases. That is wonderful though that you had such a nice weekend in the midst of all you are going through.

Sharon - all the talk about teeth and orthodontia has me nervous! We go next week and I have a feeling we are going to begin the discussions on these issues!

Dh and the boys are on mid-winter break this week. They are doing a nordic program which dh runs all week and I will be there on my 2 days off. It is nice to have no HW and no lunches to make though!

have a good week
