Ugh! Spring break is over and I need another week. Overall, it was a great spring break.
We went to Disneyland for 4 days. Truly is the happiest place on earth. Surprisingly, the crowds weren't bad at all. Kids loved Disneyland and I even got a shot of them with Mickey Mouse. Yup, my kids were NOT thrilled with me about the shot but I had one of them when they were little and now I have one with them as teenagers! California Adventure was enjoyable for them too. I'm not a roller coaster type of person so I took pictures and relaxed.
Other highlights include my oldest getting his driver's license AND a summer job. I'm so excited that he passed the first time around. Our DMV has a reputation of flunking boys the first time around but he did great!
Vaughn, we're thinking of you as you go through this difficult time. Hope the new place will soon feel like home and the boys adjust to their new living arrangements.
Here are a few questions to get us going!
1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths in the kitchen?
2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian?
3. Have you filled out your census form?
4. What's for dinner?
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer?
Have a great week!

1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths in the kitchen? Usually washcloths. I like being able to throw it into the wash at night and start each day clean.
2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian? We have meat with most dinners. I wouldn't mind being a vegetarian but my husband would die without meat (or fish) daily. Being Catholic, Fridays are tricky because none of us like fish except my husband and he won't eat mac and cheese or meatless spaghetti.
3. Have you filled out your census form? One of the girls did it the day it came and sent it out that night. WE HAVE BEEN COUNTED!
4. What's for dinner? Chicken taco dip. Let me give you the recipe since it is a favorite here. Put chicken in crock pot- can still be frozen. Pour in 1 can of salsa, one can of black beans and one can of corn. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 6-4 hours. When chicken cooked through, remvoe and shred. Return to crockpot and add one brick of cream cheese, stir occasionally as melts. 10 mins before serving, add 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, monterey, taco mix etc.) to melt over top. Serve either with taco shells along with lettuce, onions, tamotoes etcor with taco chips as a hearty dipor as a salad on top of lettuce and chips
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? on the computer

1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths in the kitchen? Washcloth - easier to just throw in the wash - keep a stack of them in a drawer
2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian? We do have meat most nights. DH thinks he HAS to have it.
3. Have you filled out your census form? Yup - did it immediately so it wouldn't get lost in the pile
4. What's for dinner? Probably sloppy joes tonight - easy easy - Manwich
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? on the computer and on my blog

1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths in the kitchen?
For dishes and counter tops I use a sponge - I throw it in the dishwasher when dirty. I use kitchen towels too. I throw those in the clothes washer.
2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian?
We have meet 3-4 times a week. I make fish once a week. Tofu or other meatless dish once or twice a week.
3. Have you filled out your census form?
Yes. When it came in.
4. What's for dinner?
Pasta salad with peas, cheese, broccoli, tomatoes, chicken
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? Both. Is tore them on the computer and print out my favorites to put in a photo album.

Dusneyland -- the happiest and most unreal place in the world...LOL! You just have to love it! I grew up in SoCal and have been there a lot...and the boys once.
Busy busy busy! Preparing for the workshop I am giving in Yosemite next week (leaving here on Friday). The Boys will be with me for the adventure. Fortunately, a very good friend is putting us up in his place just behind where I am giving the workshop in Yosemite Valley. The boys will have the run of the Valley while I am teaching. Hopefully I will not get a visit from the Park Rangers, "Mr. Hutchins, are these your boys. We found them trying to climb the outside of the Ahwahnee Hotel."
The new place still isn't a home, but we are working on it! Moving the bigger stuff from the other house tomorrow -- and my sister and BIL are offering us some stuff. My books have been in boxes for a couple years, so I am looking forward to getting them on shelves...plus my Sci-fi books as the boys are old enough to want to read them now. Strange, but I think that getting the books out where I can see them will go a long way towards making the new place a home.
1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths...? Both
2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian? A little of both. But there will be less meat than when I was married (exdw is a farmgirl). Before I was married, I ate very little red meat...sort of an economic vegetarian (could not afford much meat). Last night is was tomato soup, and melted cheese on toast...yum! So I will be tending towards more meatless dinners.
3. Have you filled out your census form? yes
4. What's for dinner? Don't have the boys this week, so I'll wait until dinnertime, then looked in the fridge and cupboards to see what is there.
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? Depends...snapshots on the computer, and I am a photographer, so I make lots of prints!

Congrats on having a new licensed driver Sharon. Less running for Mom.
Questions:
1. I use a dish cloth only. 2. I try to skip the meat as much as possible, but dh has to have MEAT!!! 3. I sent it back the very next day. 4. I didn't cook tonight because I had a meeting. But I heated up some chicken tetrazzini that I had in the freezer. I love to make a big pan of it so I can freeze some. 5. Some of both with the photos. I really prefer to have them printed out.

1. Do you use a sponge or washcloths in the kitchen? We use both.

4. What's for dinner? I haven't thought about it.
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? They are stored on the computer. "

2. Do you have meals with meat every night? Are you a vegetarian? Meat - I need the protein. Although we are mostly chicken people.
3. Have you filled out your census form? Hubby did - probably the day it came - he is organized like that. if it was up to me, it would be lost in the kitchen somewhere.
4. What's for dinner? Hubby and I went out for dinner tonight but I made the kids pizza rolls - yep, great mom that I am. Healthy.
5. Do you print out your photos or are they stored on the computer? All stored...

HI all - well I am late again - but wanted to check in. Tomorrow is the boys birthday - double digits! How does this happen so quickly?Sharon - congrats on the license - sounds like he is a good driver, though you must be feeling "how did this happen so quickly" also! We are having a sleepover with 8 boys tonight - from 2:45 when they get off the bus til 11:30 tomorrow. Then my family comes tomorrow for the family party. And it has been beautiful all week and today is RAIN!!!! UGH! We have some fun ideas though and will go out for a bit regardless of weather.
Last week was Spring break and we went to DC - such a blast and so much to do - rode bikes everywhere (best way to get around there). they are a great age for it.

We brought our bikes but there were places to rent - I saw a place at Union Station and tons of people with rental bikes - that were nice!
