Good morning everyone. It's a cold, gray day here in California. But that doesn't matter. It's just one more month of school! YEAH! I'm tired of school projects, homework, studying, etc. My boys all have spring fever.
This weekend, we have the rock climbing regional competitions. My "S" did very well. He came in 5th in strength and 1st in speed for Northern CA. He's a happy boy but it was a long 12 hour day.
Here are a few questions to get us going.
1. How long is your commute to work?
2. Do you vote in person or by mail?
3. What's for dinner at your house?
4. When does school end for your neck of the woods?
5. Any plans for Memorial Day weekend?
Off to get the kids to school.

Here are a few questions to get us going.
1. How long is your commute to work?
I don't work, but our walk to school is 2 blocks.
2. Do you vote in person or by mail?
In person.
3. What's for dinner at your house? Tonight is karate night and everyone is different levels, so it goes on for awhile. It will be crazy. Probably something very fast and easy like fish sticks or popcorn chicken to wolf down before we go to bed. I hate Monday nights.
4. When does school end for your neck of the woods?
In 3 weeks.
5. Any plans for Memorial Day weekend?
My Granny lives at Lake Eufala in Oklahoma. She wants us to visit, but can't handle us staying with her and the kids tire her out. The kids want to go camping, but already the summer is filling up, so we are combining the 2 over Memorial Day. We will camp at one of the state parks only a few miles from her and still see her for a few hours here and there.

Good morning everyone! I haven't posted in awhile for various reasons. I tell ya, that main board becomes more and more irritating and dramatic. And I confess that I tend to contribute to some of the drama. I'm quick tempered and have never been one to voice my opinion when someone ticks me off. This vet's forum is an entirely different world. Maybe it's because we are more "seasoned" and have chilled or perhaps just have become numb from many years of chaos? LOL!
Katie is doing wonderfully and we haven't heard any major snoring. Just soft, rythmic snoring and NO gasping. Yay! However, I am a little apprehensive about her upcoming appointment with her nephrologist. I am well aware that people with Down Syndrome are susseptible to many medical issues, but that doesn't make me worry any less. LOL!
My oldest dd has her first official boyfriend. Very nice kid and we know his family well. He gave her flowers when he asked her "to go out". So sweet! Of course, I gave her the "lecture" and her response was, "Mom, your preaching to the choir!" LOL! So, either she's totally snowing me over or she's really sticking to her guns. She does have a purity ring that reads "True love waits". Pretty good kid. On the other hand, I feel as if we will have the complete opposite in my other dd,lol! She's definately a free spirt!
I'm busier than I have ever been! My semester of school ends this Weds and I will be so relieved. These classes were very hard and time consuming...especially with a job and taking care of the family. If I do well on my last exam, I will have a 4.0 and be on the Dean's list! I feel so accomplished and my self-confidence has increased.
1. How long is your commute to work? About 10-15 minutes
2. Do you vote in person or by mail? In person
3. What's for dinner at your house? Oh crap. I haven't even given that a thought today.
4. When does school end for your neck of the woods? June 3rd! I have mixed emotions. On one hand, no more rushing, but on the other hand the dynamics will change. As of late, the bickering has become a problem. They pick at each other for so many minor things. I think it may be related to the stress of MY final exams and theirs.
5. Any plans for Memorial Day weekend? Not yet. We are hoping to get up to dfil's summer place, but dh's sister has first dibs. Between her work schedule, her dh's and her busy summer (her dd's wedding, her other dd's highschool graduation and her other dd's impending engagement) she deserves a relaxing weekend away. We have plenty to do at home, so it wouldn't be a bad thing to stay in town.
Have a great week everyone and say a little prayer for my doggie. She's pretty droopy and did not eat her breakfast this morning. I'm hoping she just has a virus or something and I'm just gonna wait it out until tomorrow morning before bringing her in to the vet. Let me refrain that, before dh brings her in! I'm the one taking the kids to the doctor, he can be responsible for taking care of doggie medical things. It would devastate the kids if something were to happen to her. Heck, it would be tough on dh and I too! "Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears."-- Gillian Anderson

I took 5 or so years off from the TC boards thanks to the drama following me home, i feel your pain.
1. How long is your commute to work? About three blocks - 3 or 4 minutes depending on the road conditions
2. Do you vote in person or by mail? Always in person, but this June, I might get to experience my first absentee voting.
3. What's for dinner at your house? Good question...grilling cheeseburgers, I think.
4. When does school end for your neck of the woods? 8 more days of wonderful interaction with the kids at school and then I get mine to myself for the summer.
5. Any plans for Memorial Day weekend? Going to a resort on a lake with my entire extended family. Cant wait!!! Deb Son, 12 GGB, 10

Had a great weekend. Gabi had Regionals and qualified to compete at Jr. Olympic Nationals again, in all three events. She's giddy with excitement! This year it's in Virginia Beach, VA.
Michael is preparing for soccer tryout season, and getting in shape for a summer filled to the brim with soccer. (This will be the most insane summer to date. )
Our minds are on summer now. Hard to drag ourselves through the sameness of school. The pool, freedom, friends, and vacation plans are calling our names!
I'm currently reading all the books, texts, and Latin workbooks that are required for next year. omgosh, SOOOO overwhelmed with Latin! I've taught the most basics to the kids, but am now stretching myself to keep up with the oldest two (8th grade). g*a*s*p!

Hi all. I am very late this week, but better late than never.
School is winding down here. Well, at least the students are winding down, and so are their grades. We still have school until June 10th. I hope I can keep the kids working hard enough to pass their classes. I am so glad that my own kids are out of high school. My son who is in college calls periodically and talks about his grades, but in the end, college is all up to him. I think I posted last week that he got all A's in his Masters classes. He was quite pleased with himself.
1. My commute to work is 6 minutes in good weather. When the roads are icy I am not sure which takes more time, cleaning off the car or the driving!!!
2. I vote in person.
3. I have cooked most of the week. Last night I made an Italian casserole. Tonight we had Dominoes pizza.
4. June 10th is the last day of school for us. Some school's in our district get out the day before, because we have school's closing forever this year. Our district is down enough students and money is tight, so they are closing buildings. We have about 44,000 students in our district, but that is on the decline.
5. Would you believe I have a wedding shower on that Sunday? But, I may not make it because we are trying to figure out what to do about getting another vehicle for my son. UGH It is always something. I may need that day to deal with this issue. mom to: Ryan 32 The Lawyer Jason 30 The Chief Meteorologist Chris 30 The College Student Tim 30 The college grad
I love hearing their versions of their childhood memories!!
