We haven't done a Whiny Wednesday in a while. Go ahead and let her rip!
I'm whining for my bff's sister. She had a bilateral mastectomy because of cancer in one breast. Following the surgery, all appeared cancer-free. Unfortunately, tests show microscopic cancer and she'll need chemo. She doesn't deserve this. Neither does anyone.
Will laundry ever end?

Oh Sharon....I am SOOOOO sorry! Prayers and thoughts going to all of her friends and family. Life is so unfair sometimes.
My main whine today is my oldest dd. She's really a good kid, seriously a GEM, however she has had an attitude lately. We are a lot alike (scary, I know) and have been butting heads. Thankfully, we are both tender hearted and apologize to each other soon after our little spats. I am chalking it up to end-of-school-year angst and final exams. I have just signed her up for a membership at my gym (her idea) and I am looking forward to some bonding time.
I realllyyyy do not want to go to work today. No reason really, I just don't feel like it,lol.
On the other hand, good things have been happening in this household too! We brought Katie to Madison for a visit with her nephy and pending lab work, we now only have to see the dr on a yearly basis AND her 6 month lab work can be done locally! Yipee! And, after 24 years of dh working witht he same company he has gotten a promotion. Not that much of a pay increase but he appreciates the fact that he is being recognized for the years he has put in and that his employer values him. He didn't even apply for this position, it was basically created and handed to him! How lucky is that. Sounds braggy and I apologize, but I am just so proud of him!!!
Take care everyone! "Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears."-- Gillian Anderson

I'm in a whiny mood today. SO much to do before graduation and all the kids want to do is go out with their friends. (school is done for them) Only one has a job. I told the other 2 that their social life is over until they go out and get jobs. Grad ceremony is Sunday. Their party is June 19....a lot of projects to get done around the house and yard before then. Trish Dawson Mom to bgg (1992 @ 31 weeks)

Trish,
Congrats to your kids.
I work at the high school level and I tell ya, the kids are NOT having any luck finding jobs. Many of the students are grounded until they find work, but there is nothing out there for them. Poor kids.
How is your dh doing these days? I remember him going through some pretty tough years.

Thanks, Kathy. I know it's hard to find jobs, but I want them to at least put some effort into looking for a job. Elizabeth applied at Kroger last week and she is going there today to meet with the manager. Jack needs a kick in the butt. He's applied for jobs, but never follows up with even a phone call. He figures they'll just hire him if he puts his application in.
My dh is doing really well lately. His health has been stable. He has a great sense of humor and jokes about "not having a leg to stand on", or the "mosqiutoes are biting my legs", and on and on. He went in the the kids anatomy class as a guest speaker. Talked about diabetes, organ transplants, and amputations, then he completely embarrassed Jessica when he popped his leg off and passed it around the room for the kids to see. He is great. He sounds like a great guy.
Has he been able to go back to work or is he home most of the time?

no work for him. His vision is not great, he doesn't really drive anymore and his overall health is just too unpredictable from day to day. He is permanently disabled and on Social Security. He spends a lot of time with his retired mother who lives next door to us. She drives and they do their grocery shopping together and other errands.....great for me since I hate grocery shopping.
