Just a teeny-tiny vent

My kids are pretty good about folding laundry and putting it away. HOWEVER, they seem to have a problem with matching socks. Everytime I pull out a pair of socks, one is shorter than the other.

I guess I need to either demote our current socks to rag bucket and buy new, all of the same size socks or take over the sock folding task myself, lol!

Gotta love my kiddos!

LOL! I faced the same dilemma. Sorting socks was the bane of my existence. Finally, I gave up and threw them all away. I bought all the same socks for everyone. Now, socks are an easy task!

Of course, I have all boys so you have another challenge. I'm sure your girls would like something other than white socks!

Sharon,
I think I'm gonna toss just the girls socks and buy all of the same kind. I'll keep ds's because they are very different from the girls.

And if I successfully implement Tracey's suggestion, laundry may not be my least favorite chore!

Thank you everyone for the suggestions etc.!

Ahhh...laundry. My four "help" me put the clothes away, but no matter how specific my instructions are, something always manages to get put into the wrong drawer...and the items always seem to belong to dh! Then he will ask me where a pair of shorts is and we have to turn the house upside down looking for them.

As for socks, we tried Sharon's tip, but then got into different sizes (and girlie socks, too). It does work well though! Now, I wash them all together and sort them as best I can then they get tied together and tossed in the drawer beneath the dryer. At least they all have the same "home"!

I keep the all my dds' socks in the drawer beneath the washer. Easiest solution I've come up with so far. I hate sorting socks!

LOLOLOL!!!

I long ago went to two types of socks for Caidan and two types of socks for Caeleigh. Caidan's are mostly white, same length, and he has about four or five pairs of black "gold-toe" socks, all the same. Caeleigh has white anklets, all the same, and has a few pairs of pinks, all the same length.

Dontcha just love it that socks seem to come in pairs and get divorced as soon as they arrive in your home??? At least at our house we seem to have a "swinging singles" affair for all of our socks and they can generally get matched up!!

So glad that I wasn't the only one with this kind of problem!!

ETA: BTW, when it's time for some new socks, I match up all of the old ones and give them away and/or donate them to our local thrift store. I'm just not eager to have the "odd couples" anymore!! lolol!

My kids do their own laundry. If they bring it down to the laundry room, I will wash it, but we try not to combine other people's clothing. It has saved many arguments and frustration. The trips began doing their own laundry at approx 8 y/o.

Awesome! I'm gonna buy 4 clothes hampers (TODAY!) and implement that idea after I tackle my current mountains of laundry.

Woohoo! This will save me time and frustration. Especially because I start my semester session AND the possiblity of a full-time job is in my future.

The kids will be pissed though But you know what? TFB for them!

Thanks Tracey!
