Good morning everyone. Hope the weekend was nice to you!

We had a laid-back weekend. My folks came for dinner on Saturday so the boys were working alongside us all day to get the house put together. We needed to do some deep cleaning so glass shades on bathroom light fixtures were soaked and clean. Yards done. Mulch spread. Dinner was delish. We had steak and salmon.

Here are a few questions to get us going this week.

1. How old is your oldest vehicle?

2. How often do you get it serviced?

3. How often do you entertain at your house - casual or formal?

4. Has the weather changed into seasonal fall weather yet?

5. How many loads of laundry do you do a week?

Off to clean up the breakfast mess. Had to bring one car in to the mechanic for brakes so our schedule is a bit off!

WOW Sharon, deep cleaning, and yard work don't mean a laidback weekend to me. Could you spend a laidback weekend at my house?

Our weekend was busy as usual.
Football Friday night (I'll admit, I love high school football)
My son had FB practice Sat. am then while he and the girls went to tailgate and then the game at the university, I worked a concession stand to earn discounts on the girls grade school athletic fees. 7 hours behind the counter is harder than any day at my real job.
Sunday is errand, cleaning and then a family movie (The Long, Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez

)
1. How old is your oldest vehicle?
1996 Volvo so 14 years old (same as the girls)

2. How often do you get it serviced?
Oil changes every 3-4 months, repairs as needed

3. How often do you entertain at your house - casual or formal?
Kids- ALL THE TIME. We always have kids over or spending the night.
Adults- rarely. We mean to plan it more often but the kids plans seem to overrun us.

4. Has the weather changed into seasonal fall weather yet?
We have had beautiful fall weather. A little warmer than usual but a nice crisp feel to the air and even little changes in the leaves.

5. How many loads of laundry do you do a week?
I am afraid to count but would guess 9. I thought it would go down as they got older but teenagers are as messy as toddlers!

Hello everyone!

We had a wonderful weekend. We spent it at dfil's summer home.....we had it ALL TO OURSELVES!!!! Ahhhh.....HEAVEN! I slept like a baby on Friday and Saturday night. I didn't drag my fat butt out of bed until 9:00am on Saturday morning. Felt great! This was the most relaxed I have felt for a very long time! We actually had the time to enjoy ourselves as a family!

Only downside to the weekend? Our dog had another seizure She had one last summer, this winter, one this summer, one last week and then one last night They only last about 2 minutes total, but they are so hard to watch. What's funny is that she is back to her normal self within 5 minutes. Dh called the vet today and he is thinking it's idiopathic epilepsy. She's almost 3yo and the common age for canine epilepsy to start are between the ages of 1 and 5. We are gonna "wait and see". If she has another one within the month we will start meds. I guess seizures are relatively common in Golden's?

My classes are going relatively ok. We are studying HIPAA, medical ethics, privacy, confidentiality and the repercussions if there are any violations. Quite interesting stuff really. My first term paper on HIPAA is due next week.

1. How old is your oldest vehicle? Oldest dd drives my old '94 Grand Caravan that still runs like a charm (knock on wood). I can't remember the year of dh's 'burban, but I drive a 2008 Nissan Altima.

2. How often do you get it serviced? Dh and I bring them in to get the oil changed and inspected every "something-something" miles. I think it's 3000 miles? Dh usually handles all of that crap.

3. How often do you entertain at your house - casual or formal? As much as possible, mostly casual. A lot of our entertaining is impromptu...especially with neighbors. It is not uncommon for one beer to turn into a few more

4. Has the weather changed into seasonal fall weather yet? The weather has been gorgeous here! Cooler temps in the 60's, but windy. The leaves are just starting to change color. LOVE this time of year.

5. How many loads of laundry do you do a week? Gosh. It's hard to keep count. I COULD do, at a minimum, about two per day....but I usually don't

Have a great week everyone! A chatty response once again, but I'm trying to stretch my break away from studying for as long as I can, lol!

my oldest car ( and only car) is my 2 yr old minivan. I take it in every 3 or 4 months or whenever the dealership reminds me. The only entertaining at my house is Girl Scout troop meetings. Here in Texas it's now int he 90s instead of the 100s so, yeah , I guess you could say it's fall weather. ha ha
ugh laundry. I do between 6-8 loads a week. sometimes as many as 12.

big news. I'm getting remarried. My fiance lives in Canada. the wedding is about 2 years off due to obligations for each of us. There's also issues of immigration and custody to work out. As expected, my ex-DH threw a fit when he heard. Ideally, I would like to live in Canada with my children. It's the better choice for financial, career, health and education reasons. It's looking like it will take some legal wrangling to make it happen.

I'll be a "new mom" to a 25 yr old and a 21 yr old.

Korrie, Congrats on the wedding front. I'm very happy for you. I hope the next two years fly by and custody issues are resolved quickly and amicably.
