We did Sylvan Learning which is similar. I am still paying off the loan and my child is a junior in college. I can't say it really helped.

Take advantage of any support your school might offer first or maybe a private tutor/college student would be cheaper if you can't tutor yourself.

I don't have any experience with Kumon but since you haven't gotten many responses, I'll throw my 2 cents in.

For math, I found ALEKS very helpful. It is all online, in your home so you can fit it in any schedule. The kids do a simple "test" first to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. They can do as many or few lessons as they like and you can check progress. It would be best if each child had an account so you could see each child's progress but if you just want them to do extra work, it wouldn't matter. We did it when the girls were in 4th grade and needed a boost. The price then was only $30/month.

Another idea, is to check the local colleges. Many that offer a degree in education also offer tutoring. It is a great experience for the coolege kids and is usually priced right.

Good Luck
