#375, "finally, snow in the atlanta area!!!"

Well the title says it all. We are way down in the deep south and we got our first snow fall of the year!!! yipee!
My 15 yo son, wesley, even got to stay out of school for the whole inch of snow we got. Trevor woke me up about 3 am because he was sick and after I cleaned him up, I looked out the window and it was already on the ground, I showed it to him and he was saying, "it looks like sand". Well I took them out in the snow at 9:30 this morning and they loved it!
Oh, well, I thought you all from the north would get a kick out of our excitment over the snow.
Take care.

We have snow too in South Carolina! The kids went to school, only to be dismissed an hour later. The drive home was horrible! The roads got bad so fast. We have about 4 inches so far, and are supposed to have 8 inches by morning. No, we southerners are not prepared for this! It took us 1 1/2 hours to get home from school, a drive that usually takes 13 minutes. We got stuck one time, and firemen were pulling vehicles out of ditches!! Now that we're home, we're not going anywhere! The kids are having a blast though!

We have an abundance of snow where we are and anytime you feel the hankering for some more (lol) you are more than welcome to ours. We are soooo tired of snow! Thankfully, we are supposed to have warm temperatures this weekend (45-50 degrees!)so most of this yucky white stuff will go! I will be so happy to not have to deal with wet snowpants, boots, mittens, etc for four children.
Dh and I went away to the Caribbean for a vacation this winter for a week. We left town and it was cold and starting to snow (again). When we got to our destination it was sunny, warm and just beautiful. We soaked up that Caribbean sun, got very tan and very relaxed. When we were about to depart the Caribbean, we were told at the airport that our flight was delayed by 1 hour because everything was grounded at home due to the extreme cold. Boy was that a downer! When we finally did land at home, they welcomed us back by saying, "Welcome back, I hope you had an enjoyable flight! The temperature is.....let's just say you don't want to know!" Ugghh! It was dangerously cold (well below zero, plus windchill factors put us even farther below zero) and flights were not allowed to take off, but ours was allowed to land (bummer, I wish we could've spent another night in the Caribbean). It was soooooo cold! Our poor vehicle took forever to start and the seats were sooo cold that it actually hurt to sit on them for awhile. But.....it was all worth it, to come home in the middle of the night and peek in on our four sleeping children! Oh, how we missed them and we were so happy to be home again with them! That "thawed" us out again! Here's to an EARLY spring! Can't wait until Easter!
