My oldest DD and I had "The Sex Talk" a couple of weeks ago and I have been meaning to post this story, but have been soooo busy lately. Unfortunately it took me to get sick to actually find the time.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago my oldest dd brought home a video tape from school about periods, sex, etc. A note was attached to watch it with your daughter and return within a few days, so DD and I sat down and watched it together. Dh took the other three on an outing so that we could talk without interuption. The video explained the basics about menstruation, the mechanics of sex and so forth. When the video was finnished DD looked at me and said, "Ok, explain this intercourse thing to me again, I don't get it." I did and she asked, "They put WHAT WHERE?!?!" I explained it again and she said, "OH, that's just NASTY!" I could barely keep a strait face, especially when she said, "You and Daddy don't do THAT, do you?!" I said, "Uh, yes, that is how babies are made, remember?" She said, "Ugh! Doesn't it hurt? Do you have to get naked?" I almost died!!! As soon as she left the room I literally bawled I was laughing so hard!

thanks so much for sharing that story. You should write this down to share with her on her wedding day. She has a great mom who is willing to forgo her comfort level to explain the sex and body. I know that is was weird for my dad to have this talk but he did. I have always felt when growing up I could tell him anything or my mom and they might be upset but they would help me. So way to go MOM!

Oh, that's too funny! I am not good at such talk, no matter who I'm talking to. Perhaps DH can do all the sex talks for our kids...not likely though. Thanks for the laugh. I hope dd doesn't read this. I agree you should write it down for her wedding shower or wedding day.
