Good morning everyone! I missed everyone while I was gone. No internet for a week made me feel like I was out of touch!
We are back from our Arkansas vacation. The grandparents were thrilled we were there. It was a great experience for our four boys. My inlaws live on 10 acres. The boys rode riding lawnmowers for hours each day. They made wooden bird feeders with grandpa in the barn.
We spent 2 days in Missouri at an aunt's farm. They own several but took us to the cattle farm for part of a day. The boys loved feeding a baby calf that needed bottle feeding only. We went to their lake and the boys spent a fun afternoon fishing. A new experience! Then we went to the farm and rode the big pieces of farm equipment. One of my boys fell in a ditch and needed to be hosed off, literally. I asked my husband for help. Before helping, he grabbed the video camera to make sure we documented the boy covered in gunk!
Glad to be home. Back to school today and picking a contractor this week for the house remodel. Several field trips for the boys, also.
Hope everyone has a great week. Anything exciting going on?

Sharon, what a great vacation! My cousin's lived on a farm in West Virginia and we used to have a blast there. I know that the memories will stay with your boys a lifetime. I still love going there.
Nothing much going on here, except Kindergarten registration is this week. What a strange thing that my babies are going to "big kid" school.
The weather is finally great, so we spent the weekend digging, digging, digging. Maybe we'll actually get a garden in this year. We have to sink some wire into the perimeter though, because last year the cute groundhogs ate everything!LOL
Hope everyone is well. Tamra

Riding lawnmowers? Yikes! Seriously, it sounds like they had fun. And just teasing about the lawnmowers - we have a tractor for clearing snow and DH gives rides all the time. We haven't let them go solo on it, though....
We still have 'mud season' here. There is still snow on the ground, but we're down to patches & piles. It's raining today, which should make the snow shrink and the mud grow.
We built this house in 2001 - and just last week I had someone come out to measure for paving part of our driveway and sidewalks up to the doors. Where does that time go??? I am looking forward to having this last big job completed - then I can start planting/gardening a little this summer.
The school had a fund-raising carnival this past weekend. We had fun! I carried the baby, DH cased the 3yr old, and we kept the tickets so the girls had to tell us where they were going next. It worked out great! The kids were all happy, and DH and I didn't get all stressed out trying to keep track of all of them.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Kari

Kari,
Yikes, is right. No, we did not let our 7 year olds ride the lawnmowers by themselves! Either Max or their grandfather rode with them. We did let our 10, almost 11 year old ride by himself with supervision. He did fine!
They have such wonderful memories from our trip two years ago. And this trip was just as good. It's wonderful to think they will have exposure to a completely different lifestyle than the ones they live every day.
Have a great day!

Sounds like you had a nice vacation Sharon! We live in a rural community & both sets of inlaws farm. My DS always looks forward to harvest time so he can ride the combine or the grain truck. I'm sure he will remember those times spent with his grandpa & uncles and cherish them.
Not much going on this week. I think the only thing I have scheduled is a hair appt. (For Me!) Wintertime always does a number on my hair and the gray is beginning to come in more & more so it's time for a new do and some hair color. Nothing drastic, just something to "LIVEN" me up a little for spring & summer.
The kids have been playing outside all last week. Boy it's getting harder & harder to call them in for supper and get baths done when the sun is still up. But all this extra playtime sure does make them fall asleep quicker at night. I think they are all ready for school to be over. It cuts into their play schedule on those nice days. LOL!

Was the end of a crazy week as usual. Stayed home all weekend. The one good thing about being oncall, is I get things done around the house. Rearrange the computer room for the boys with newer lower shelves so they can get to all their books. Trying to convience DH they each need their own room. I want to decorate to each of their likes and paint murals for them. So we'll see. He so resistant to change sometimes. Rained on Saturday.. bummer. Sunday was finally nice out. Only had two kids, Hunter went with daddy to his baseball game. So got things done and while the other two were couch potatos. They were so busy last week with Spring break. Between my mom and MIL they went everywhere and had fun. This week is typical.. the boys have kindergarden physcial and shots Friday. This should be loads of fun for me. I have to go solo since My mom will be going camping. I would ask DH but he doesn't do doctors well , might be more stresful for everyone.~smile~
Sharon... I remeber my grandma letting me drive his ride on mower. It was so much fun. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time! Thanks for sharing with us. Wish I could remodel our home. My mom put us in for Extreme Home Makeover ( with millions of others) but you never know!

Sharon,
It sounds like your boys had a lot of great experiences. Isn't it fun to watch them having fun?
I am still looking for a new job. Nothing has been posted yet so I am a little nervous about it all. (okay, really nervous about it all) I spent the weekend pulling together all the materials I need for an updated resume. It took my dh and I all afternoon to to update my application on line.
Thursday afternoon I leave for the Minnesota MOMS Convention. I can't wait! We have such a great group of moms who attend this that we just have a blast. This will actually be my only getaway that I've taken in almost a year.! I need to remedy that situation.
I hope you all have a wonderful week

I wasn't part of a MOMs group in MN - but I might know one or two that might attend. My college roommate Laurie has b/g twins that are about 4. And.... it's been a long day.... I'm blanking on the first name of an old co-worker...(Sherry?) she has g/g twins that are 3 & was using my now 'extra' cribs. Spent most of my life in MN, it's always 'home' to me. Have fun at the convention. Love'em all!! B,E,S g/g/g 12/96 @32 weeks R g 6/98 T b 8/00 D b 1/04

Thanks, I know I will have a wonderful time with all the great moms who attend the convention. We usually average about 300 moms. Most of course are moms of twins. I think we usually have about 30 triplet moms. The number seems to be growing every year for the triplet moms.
I can't wait to leave!

Korrie Here's a link you may find interesting. http://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=83&p_catid=7&sid=91hH9H0-9MXA9Ys-59104357607.97
There is a link between celiac disease and Down's syndrome. One of my boys had very frequent sinus/ear/broncial infections. He also had a huge appetite and was (still is) a big guy. These are not what most people assume to to be symptoms of celiac disease, but often are. The www.celiac.com is a great site for info on celiac. Three out of five of us have been diagnosed with it, and each of us had very different symtoms. ADD and ADHD are also common w/ celiac disease.

Hello everyone. Sharon glad your vacation in the country was fun for all of you. It sounds nice. We're from a small country town, so probably a week in your home would be a change for us.
We had our triplets in a hotel overnight for the first time this past weekend. It was just a one night trip 2 hours away. We went to Niagara Falls (which they wanted to swim in), then back to swim at the hotel, a quick dinner at the mall, then to a nephew's college lacrosse game. The next morning his sister played lacrosse at the same college (as the opposing team though). The kids had fun and we enjoyed the games and visiting with family. Monday was a bit tough because we were all a little slow to get going. Baseball started last week for Jared, so we're off an running 2 nights a week for practices right now. DH does that with the kids since I work nights. Other than that, I'm working out at the YMCA, taking the kids to story hour each week, doing all the work at home, then working nights - same routine really.
We are trying to work on Jared's temper these days. DH has a quick temper too, so I'm trying to point out he needs to control his temper before he can expect his son to do the same. I think it will be a lifetime battle really. Jared's teacher doesn't see it, so thankfully it's not a problem in school. We did tell her though so she can watch for it.
Have a good week everyone - hope all of you with sickness in your homes get a break from it.
