Wake up everyone. The week has started!

Last week was busy. We finally got our building permit. Yahoo. Our cntractor is finishing up some smaller projects this week and we hope he starts next week. We're working with the cabinet guy to get something designed we like (and can afford). It feels like progress. We also found an apartment to rent after giving up on a house rental. We couldn't find anyone to let us move in for just 3-4 months. While I understand the costs of move-in/move-out, the rental costs are about $2000 per month. You think they could afford it!

This week is busy. I forgot it's Mother's Day on Sunday. I have to get something together for my mother-in-law and get it mailed. I'll see my mom on Sunday so I have a little time. Any ideas out there?

Back to the doctor for two of my boys. They had what I thought we small patches of dry skin on their eyelids. Nothing would make them go away so I finally brought them in. They are warts! Yuck! Never saw warts that look like this. So we tried burning them off last week with one boy but nothing happened. So I'm back in with two of them tomorrow.

Gotta get this house together. All the kids had birthday parties over the weekend to go to and the house is a disaster. Working outside on projects just mean the inside goes awry!

Hope everyone has a GREAT week!

We finally got to mow the lawn and plant a couple new flowers...spring in itself is a great metal health boost around here. The kids have been outside, and it is so much better this summer than the last three. I can trust them somewhat!

I got the official letter asking me to try the girls out for competative gymnastics, but I just dont know if I can justify the money at this age.

We did a ton of toy purging this weekend, and priced all the Rescue Hero collection for a garage sale - our younger son doesn't care for them and out older son decided he is too old. (Already?) I figure that the kids are plenty old enough to instill some kind of cleaning room routine - so since they had perfect start thanks to me, I am having them clean every night and once during the day...wonder how long it will last - since I myself am not a neat freek...

That is the excitement around here -

I made it through the weekend with DH away on a fishing trip. The good weather helped us all have better attitudes! So this week I'll be catching up on all the errands I didn't do over the weekend.

Some of you might remember that in the fall we battled dozens of mice. Well, this spring it is termites and carpenter ants. Ugh. The joys of homeownership....seems like as soon as we get alittle money ahead, something comes along to gobble it up

The boys (5) are putting on a Mother's Day brunch at school. It is too strange, since as a teacher I always did a Mother's Day tea and now it is my turn. I always cried at the program and I didn't even have kids, so I'm sure I'll be a mess on Thursday. But I can't wait.

Have a good week everyone!
Tamra

Good morning, everyone!

We had a nice week last week. Wednesday it was 70 outside - so I called DH home from work early with KFC, and then spent 2 hours raking. The kids played, the baby stayed in his exersaucer (mostly). I went for a quick walk in the woods and found bear tracks. (Sure enough, mama bear and cubs hit our garbage this weekend; it's not spring up here 'till the bears are out!)

The school had their fine arts festival last Thursday night. We went to see all the artwork they had put up. It didn't go quite as well as the carnival the previous week, since there were no tickets to keep the kids close by. We had to rescue the elevator from DS; people have mentioned seeing one DD tackling him to get him to stop running off. DH was a little stressed by the end of the hour. Oh - we did manage to see a couple drawings in there somewhere!

This week we sign up for soccer, try out for a 1st grade talent show, sign up DS for preschool next year, and take in DS's costume for recital next week. I've already taken 4 inches off the arms, next come the pants (they couldn't get it in his size)!

I can't believe it is May already....

Love'em all!!

Good Morning to all,

I'm still battling with this computer,it still wants to knock me off this web site and won't let me inter new postings, so I hope this gets posted.
we had a very busy weekend. All children are playing baseball and softball. We have 3 schedules and 3 differnet fields to deal with. So far we hav't had overlapping problems. My dd loves playing softball, with the girls. For the last 2 yrs she's played baseball w/brothers. she announced that if she had to play w/ boys again she would throw-up.

Only 3 more weeks of school!!!!!! I have mixed feelings about it. I will love the low key mornings and sleeping in, but the crazyness and noise will get on my nerves quickly. Am I terrible??

My 1st graders are going on a fishing fieldtrip on Thursday.
My 13 yr old has been studing for finals and working on book reports.

have a great week everyone,

I had a FABULOUS weekend!! I dropped the kids off on Friday at 6;30 with their Dad. As I drove away, I thought "I should probably be crying or something." Nah!! I had a MOMs garage sale to get to since I was selling stuff and I was also one of the committee members!! LOL! I got home, loaded the van and off to the sale, just as I finished unloading, the huge storms were unleashed! Good timing for once! I ended up buying more stuff than I sold-moneywise but the kids are all set for summer and a bit of fall. I didn't pay over $4 for any of the outfits, and as we all know, they are hardly worn at all!!
I got to spend some time with my new guy *sigh* He's just all around GREAT!! I got a haircut-the first one in about 3 years that I didn't do myself! LOL! Also went and got my nails done. Saturday night,I conked out by 10:30 and slept-UNINTERRUPTED- until 9 am Sunday morning!! WAAHoo!!
did I miss my kids?? Perhaps a bit... but I'm looking forward to the next weekend off!! Hope everyone has a great week!

Hello Everyone,
We are counting down the days til summer. The kids have another project due this week, so I'm off to the craft store, etc. I'm looking forward to no more projects for a while.
We are headed for Cincinnati on Friday to an Irish dance competition that will be held at the convention center on Saturday. I only signed the girls up because we were going to have a girls weekend, but now dh and ds want to go too. It's too late to sign ds up for competition, so he can just enjoy watching everyone else. We will be home Saturday night and spend Mothers day with my Mom. MIL has to work.

Have a great week.

Hi everyone! Sounds like good reports from all of you this week. I'm glad to see that. We had a nice weekend too. DH had an errand to run Saturday morning, so I took the 4 kids to walk in a little mini-parade to kick off the little league season, then we biked to the Barber shop to get Nathan's haircut. (Emily said "I can't get my freakin' helmet on", as we were trying to leave. I couldn't help but giggle.) After lunch we went to a high school lacrosse game to watch our niece play. The next morning was the benefit for the family that lost their 4 yr old triplets in a fire. We did go (previous posts on main board regarding that) and it was fine, no one seemed to notice us which was a good thing. We took the kids to the local playground that afternoon and did some yardwork - it was a low-key weekend which is nice. Today I got caught up on cleaning and worked out at the YMCA. This week starts baseball games on Tu/Th for Jared plus we have a dental appt on Thurs for the entire family. I also am planning brunch for our family (21 if all come, which isn't likely) on Mother's Day, so I'll need to coordinate everyone and get the shopping done. Dh will do the cooking that day though, he's good at that and is so sweet on Mother's Day. Have a nice week everyone!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm a little late posting today. I wish I could post with good news of starting off a good week but Sunday just didn't start that way. We lost DH's grandma suddenly. She had broken her hip, undergone surgery to pin it and looked like she was doing great when her kidneys shut down. She was diabetic. So yesterday & today have just been crazy. I had to go shopping this morning to get clothes for the kids to wear since it's hard to keep dress clothes with them growing so fast. My MIL is an only child so DH & I and BIL & his DW are pretty involved in the arrangements. She was the last living great grandparent to our kids. I will miss her deeply as she was the one who helped me for the first 3 yrs after the girls were born. My DM or MIL picked her up every afternoon (M-F) around 4:00 and she would help me in the evenings through feedings, baths, etc. when DH's former job kept him until 8-9pm. She wasn't my grandma, but treated me as such. Her guidance, strength & wisdom helped me get through those rough first years. She loved rocking babies & was so much help to me. So anyway, this week is a sad one for all of us. I am so grateful that my kids were fortunate enough to have known their great grandmother so well.

On a brighter note, we are fencing our back yard. YEA! A mixture of keeping kids in & out. With no fence it's almost like grand central station here (we have a trampoline, so it's like a magnet!) You would think that after telling them they can't jump without their parent's permission they would leave, but they stick around and watch my kids. It will be nice when we have a little privacy.

Glad to hear you are all doing well. I think I too am ready for those summer days without a strict schedule.

((((Kris))))) I am so sorry about Grandma!! How sad. It's wonderful that your children got to know her so well. I grew up with my Grandma living with us and her mom, my great-Grandma, was a part of my life until I was 21! It was a wonderful expereince. I hope that your children will always treasure their memories of her. God Bless during this difficult time. hugs,Korrie

well, just more insanity here..
had to tote post foot surgery dh to family dr mon am, though he was having a kidney stone, ends up being pulled flank muscle with pushing up off chairs/couches without putting right foot on floor, wrenched muscles in left flank...Lord help me if he ever does get a kidney stone, as painful i've heard they are, i think he would die before i get him somewhere...then off to pediatrician with the 2 boys for possible ear infections...1 did 1 didnt, but treating both for allergies with allegra and singulair. Drop off prescriptions, take them to karate class, pick up prescriptions, slap pb&j sandwich and fruit and salad together for their dinner...go through Rx bag and 1 bottle of singulair missing...retrace tracks and search truck twice, call pharmacy, 10 mins with teeny bopper tech then finally speak with pharmacist, who will get me another bottle to pick up...im sure it will show up in someone else's bag of meds somewhere. It's not here, and bag was stapled at top and im not in the habit of being absent minded with medicine...i finally got dinner at 8:30. Oh yea, husband calls me at karate and says phscologist office just called wanting to know where teachers evaluation papers are, as i was there 2 wks ago and they couldnt finalize their testing for add vs learning disability because teacher papers werent back yet, after 6 wks. Check with her and they must have gotten lost in school mail system, so i give her another packet to fill out, ask her to get them back to me to hand deliver, and that's been 2-3 wks now...urrrgggghhhh. Call teacher on her cell phone last night...said she had them and forget to give to dd (the responsible one!!) but will call her cell phone back and leave a reminder message for herself...yea we'll see. Hopefully she'll get them to me by the time walmart calls with my new glasses..so wierd wearing my rx sunglasses "inside" everywhere, but beats walking around in public with duct tape on my glasses!! Also wild goose chase for a cast protector, so my dh can take a shower, 2 med. equip. supply places, walmart and 3 pharmacies...nil and no one can tell me where to get one either, so thats on my agenda for tues.
So that was my Monday...nothing out of the ordinary for the rest of the week..perhaps i can get this ham in my fridge cooked for a real dinner...and the veges planted in the garden that never happened over the weekend, before they croak in their peat pots!!
Is it any wonder my darling mother in law went to cleaning my house last week when she got home with our kids while i was at hospital with dh surgery????!!!! Dusting and vacuuming just always gets put on back burner with all that goes on round here!!! Oh well, Im still standing and so is the house!!!
Have a great week ya'll...Im hoping for one!!
