#1304, "Purple Puke and Prevacid"

For those of you whose babies were on Prevacid, did you ever experience purplish "blotches" or streaks in their spitup? We recently upped my daughter's dosage from 7.5 to 15 mg and have noticed this. My pediatrician was clueless, but when I googled it someone said it was from the time release coating on the solutabs. Any experience with this?

Oh yes! At first it looked red and we thought they were throwing up blood! On closer inspection, it turned out to be purple/red.

It is fine, it happens. Just make sure you are giving the dose to them about 1/2 hr before a meal. That gives enough time for most of it to be utilized and useful for that next meal.
