#1395, "Crafts for 1 year olds"

I wanted to know if anyone has ideas on crafts I can do with my little ones who are 1 years old but 10 mnths adjusted. They put everything in their mouths so it would have to be safe and non-toxic.

Can't wait to hear the ideas!
Thanks!!

Mine are a few months older than yours and still putting almost everything in their mouths. We made Valentine's Day cards this year to send to close family members. I cut and folded the construction paper to fit the envelopes, decorated with a couple big hearts, and signed names, but then the kids stuck small paper hearts to each card. They had a really good time and didn't even try to put many in their mouths. I used a scrapbooking double-sided adhesive tape so there was no glue to dry or smear all over and it worked really well. I put a little square of the adhesive on each heart before I gave it to them and they just had to stick it to the card. It definitely worked better with DH there to help them do the sticking, but was manageable when it was just me.

I like those..... I have so many ideas for the summer - it's just hard to fill the time during the winter months.

There's a thread on the main board about finger painting for 2 year olds. Look at the entry about "wrapping" the table top. That idea could also be used for coloring, stickers, stamping, etc.
