#1471, "Blanket/Lovie's in bed?"

My kids have these 12x12inch(ish) blanket squares they absolutely love to snuggle. I'm wondering if it is safe to let them take their little snuggly blankets into bed with them if they want. They've reached the age where I've stopped worrying about them rolling over in their sleep because they roll themselves back just fine.

I've got similar blankets with my GGG - now 10 months adjusted. We started giving them the blankets for nap in replacement of soothers for comfort about 3 months ago. It stuck, and now they sleep with them. At first I admit, I was a bit nervous about it -- but they seem do well with them and they are very light weight.

Occasionally I come in and one G has the blanket over her face -- but I just remove it -- I check them once they are asleep to make sure everyone's face is free and clear...

cheers -

We noticed that my son would start to rub a blanket or burp cloth on his face when he was sleepy so I got him a lovie. It helped so much to soothe him to sleep. I do what the other poster said, check before I go to bed at night and take it off his face. He can roll too so I figure if he is strong enough to do that one little lightweight blankey won't hurt him!

I might try it with their next nap and see how it goes. Thanks!

I let my girls have their sock monkeys and glow worms in their cribs. Like you, I'm not worried about them not being able to move them.
I say if you are comfortable with it and they seem to do fine then go for it, plus I can always see them on our monitor for any trouble that might arise!
