#148, "teething issue, constant medication?"
Fri Dec-05-08 08:07 AM by karlacg

My trio is 5 months. They have been sleeping great at night only getting up to eat and then going right back down. For the past few weeks my ds wakes up every few hours crying. I am able to hush him back to sleep but he wakes up again within hours. During the day I notice he is more fussy and has started grabbing at his head and cheeks. I'm thinking teething even though I cannot see or feel any teeth coming through yet. I have heard the pain can start months in advance. I have started giving him infant tylenol when he wakes up at night and it seems to do the trick, no more wake-ups. My question is, do I continue to give him Tylenol every night? Can't this last for months? How often and for how long did you medicate your babies for teething? I don't like medicating him every night but it a great way for us to get some sleep!

I think that teething issues are like a rollercoaster. Seems as though there are times where it is worse than others. This same thing happens w/ Gabi but she sleeps through the night. I can also tell that she is going through a rough patch when she won't let me near her mouth. Still no top teeth though. Teething sucks!

I love your Christmas picture. I would use medicine as long as he is fussy in the day. Think about when you have a tooth ache--it kills and it is all you can think about. When my older DD was teething we would give her Tylenol each night. This seemed to help her sleep better throughout the night.
