I am 17 weeks pregnant with spontaneous triplets (BBB)and we have 3 older girls. Two of the triplets are mono-mono, so I have weeks ahead in the hospital. Is there an online way you save money on diapers? What ways have you found to save the most money on diapers, and also formula and wipes?

Our triplets are still in utero, but I have found the best savings for diapering to be in cloth prefolds and covers--even a diapering service is cheaper than disposables.

From our disposable using friends, I've heard the Target brand and Wal-Mart brand generics are well priced. I'd suggest Amazon Mom but the program has been discontinued!

Obviously it has been a LONG time since we needed any diapers, and we used a diaper service (which I loved!).

But since you only received one post, I will suggest a few things I remember from long ago.
When you have your baby shower(s), ask the host to ask each invitee to bring a package of diapers (suggest larger sizes). For each packet of diapers they bring, their name will be entered into a drawing.

We received alot of formula from the reps but I don't think they are so generous now. We found getting the powder and making it in a gallon jug to keep in the fridge to be the most economical and convienent method.

I used washcloths for the first several months then switched to Sams Club wipies but I remember reading some made wipies by cutting paper towel rools in half, removing the cardboard center, and placing in a tupperware type container with a mix of water and baby soap. Pull the "wipies" up from the senter of the roll.

Good Luck.

I agree with Judie on having guest bring diapers for the baby shower. We did that and I had enough to make for about 4 months. IT was great. I did not use cloth diapers because I could not stand the mess. I used diapers.com because I did not have to pay for shipping or taxes (shipping is free on orders of 50). Now I buy my diapers at sam's club which is cheaper then diapers.com. I breast feed my kids so I did not have to purchase formula but I know someone that bought their formula on ebay. They tried to get it for no more than 10 a can with shipping. Her babies and mine were both early and needed Neosure which cost about 15 a can in stores.

my friends threw a diaper and wipe party...we had a poker tournament, beer, and food...it went over very well and we really cashed in...I would suggest your husband run the idea by a couple of buddies.

Our triplets are 4 1/2 months old (6 weeks adjusted) We have been home six weeks and I still have tons of diapers upstairs. As for the manufacturers, we have contacted them and they are not helping out families due to the economy unfortunately.

I hope this helps a little and I wish the best of luck in a long and safe pregnancy! Happy Mothers Day

Definitely try to do a little diaper thing at your shower if you can. And if anyone asks what you need, tell them diapers!

From my research, the cheapest diapers I have found is Luvs at Target, with one of their store cards where you get 5% off per purchase. They are the same or cheaper than store brands and I have never had leakage problems. I actually like them better than Pampers. Can't get a better price online either. I also love the Target Up and Up wipes and they are the cheapest I have found. Once in a while they have a Buy 2 get a $5 gift card and I buy out the shelf.

As for formula, we were stuck with a fancy formula for one (which insurance covered) and Enfacare for a while, but our pediatrician was a big fan of store brand formulas. She said they were the exact same and that is what I used when I changed to a toddler formula later on. The WalMart brand they did just fine with and was SO MUCH cheaper. Other than that, accumulate as many coupons as you can.

Hi! Congrats on your BBB! Mine are 14 months old.

I use cloth diapers on my trio (and huggies too). Two suggestions on savings.

If you think you might like cloth, you might be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is. I unfortunately was scared to try it, so didn't start until the boys were already 9 months old. But I sat down and calculated that HAD we started right away, we could have saved about 5 THOUSAND dollars in the first two years!! AND that includes the cost to buy the cloth diapers(name brand, BumGenius), 2 pails, 4 liners, detergents, a couple wet bags. Also they are very cute prints and much less leakage!

The second thing, If you have Amazon prime. You can 'Subscribe and save" and that will save you quite a bit. You might have to set up two sep subscriptions though to get the amt of diapers you need.

Good luck!!
