Hi,,,,. I really need an advice from moms and dads of multiples,,,. My triplets are now 19 months old, and my girls are major climbers. I did everything I could, and still have some projects to childproof our house better, but they are getting better and better at everything. Aya and Koto are up on the part of the TV entertainment center in seconds (of which I am now making shelf parts to cover up the area that they climb on.) Koto has figured out how to simply climb out from a famous KidCo Configure Gates. Her body is light enough to push herself up by just holding her weights with two little toes on the vertical bars, and pushes herself up. And,,, Aya proved that she can climb to the top of our dining table even though our dining benches's back is covered with thick plastic sheets, and the benches are tacked in all the way inside the dining table. I even bolted the plastic little tykes one unit benches and table to the wall, using a chain directly bolted to the stud (so they do not push it toward the entertainment center to climb onto it,,,.)
I am starting to feel,,,, in addition to childproofing everything to the maximum way,,, I am starting to wonder,,,,
is it possible to really teach them what to climb and what not,,, at 19 months old?
Is it better to let them learn to sit on the dining bench, and try to teach them not to climb onto the table,,,, instead of not allowing them to sit there at all (like now?)
I cannot step away from them at all, and I am really trying to figure out how to keep them safe,,,.
Should we replace all the KidCo gates to the extra-tall ones???
