#569, "RE: How do I get babies to sleep through the night"

Jarod sounds like one of my boys. We ended up doing cry it out when Eli who used to sleep through the night started waking up (we learned it was due to sensory issues). We did a less aggressive version, i.e. going in every 15 minutes to pat his back and make sure he is ok.
It took two weeks before he stopped waking up. I know if you are aggressive with it some report success in 3 days. But before you do sleep training make sure that the baby is not teething or sick, or anything that would cause him to keep waking up such as a dirty diaper.
We also did infant massage (gentle but firm pressure on his limbs and torso) which really calmed him down before sleep. We also use a noise machine. One thing that has also helped Eli is to have a wearable blanket since he likes to be confined (he's too big for swaddling). These address his sensory issues but even if a baby does not have sensory issues, it should help calm a baby down.
Good luck.
