#578, "First Time out Shopping with Whole crew by myself"

So I have a 2yo boy and 3mo bbg triplets. Today I really wanted to go to walmart and get a few things and prove to myself I could do it with everyone.

Normally I walk at a good pace so no one can stop me. I live in the country so everyone has something to say when they see me and my family. Well I have a Valco stroller. I normally have 2 in seats, carry one on my chest (which people usually don't notice, because I use a 5 yard wrap that covers her head), and finally my 2yo stands on the toddler stand, Then I pull the shopping cart behind me. When I get into Walmart I am walking fast and have a plan on how to get in and out of there. After clipping the back of my heals with the shopping cart a couple of time I slowed down. That is when the craziness really began. People had already were making comments as I was walking by, oh how cute, is their a 3rd one up there, OMG, you must have your hands full. I always smile and keep moving. However once I had to slow down people were stopping me and crowding me. Every lane people would join in in asking questions. I thought I was going crazy, are they serious. They are just babies, I just want to finish shopping. My 2yo thought it was great. He would step down and pet their heads and smile.

Thank god it was very slow in there. It took me 2 hours to get water, Milk, bread, paper stuff, pasta and apples. People would stand in front of me and not let me pass. I wasn't upset just tired and wanted to get home.

Anyone have a weird story?

Last month I drove from Ohio to Louisiana with my 5 month old GGB. My sister flew in to help me with the drive...12 hours without triplets! Anyway we stopped at rest areas every 4 hours or so to change, feed, and play with the babies and we were like a sideshow! We had crowds around us at all times. I was so sick of telling everyone what their names are....how old they are....blah blah blah. Not to mention the “you have your hands full” comment or the “do you watch Jon and Kate +8?” comment. I know I should be gracious and flattered that everyone wants to see my beautiful babies but it really is a nuisance sometimes. I feel your frustration!
