#83, "Do you limit how long your trio nap?"

My trio are about 5 months (3.5 adjusted) and they are angels about naps. They go right down and sleep for hours! I am worried they are sleeping too much and it may be messing with their morning wake-up time. They probably sleep 2.5 hours for both their morning and afternoon nap. Then, they take another 30 min. catnap in the evening. They go right to sleep at night (7 PM) and sleep fairly well (besides waking to eat). BUT, they do get up around 5 AM. I will put my boy in his swing and he goes back to sleep but my girls drift in and out of sleep and play till 6 AM when we all get up. How long did your kids sleep around this age? Did you ever start limiting how long they slept for naps? I know HSHC recommends 1 hour in the AM and 2 in the PM around 5 months actual....Sometimes I think my kids would sleep all day if I let them.

When my kids were this little I never limited thier sleep. If they slept they were tired. They too were early riseres, and to this day still are. It doesn't matter what time we put them to bed, they still get up early. So, I don't think they are sleepign to much, perhaps you need to drink more coffee in themorning!! JK!!! They still take 3 hour naps for me, they are 2 and my 4 year old still sleeps for 2 hours. I think they are great sleepers because we didn't wake them up from naps and always encouraged sleeping if tired. If they sleep through the night (except for eating) I think they are doign GREAT!!! good luck.

I read where they said if children are good sleepers early on they are at a lower risk for childhood obesity....However I dont have triplets but I do have a 19 month old that still takes three naps...9-11...2-4...530-6...goes to bed at 730 and sleeps til 8...i feel like i barely see her...but she is happy.

karla-
hi! I love reading your posts b/c your worries are usually the same as mine, right about the same time. It must be b/c our babies are the same age. Mine are doing the same. Just today I was worried that they sleep too much. I guess is the age or just plain tired

My sister always says, Never ever wake a sleeping baby!! It sounds like they are doing really well and should be going through the night soon. Congrats! You're one of the lucky ones!
