Happy Tuesday. There isn't anything that interesting happening here. The kids were almost over their very mild colds so Katie decided to wake up in the middle of the night Sunday with a worse cold. I'm sure she'll be sharing with the other 2 any minute. We continue to have sleeping issues which makes for cranky kids and adults. Saturday was a very bad day. I was the mean mom from hell because I was so tired. When DH got home yesterday (he's gone every weekend) he sent me out alone for a couple of hours. I went shopping and NOT to the grocery store.

Sunday we went to our neighbor's birthday party. It was fun and the kids had a good time once they got over their initial shyness. I liked talking to adults and eating food I didn't have to cook. When it was time to go home, the kids didn't want to go but we got out of the house ok. A couple of moms had just complimented me on how well they behaved, so something bad had to happen. We got out the door and the girls refused to walk. They wanted me to carry them. The party was only 2 houses over so we had walked with their backpack leashes. The neighbors have a lot of stairs in front of their house. I had to carry and pull the girls down the stairs. Then I had to literally drag the girls home while Katie was clutching on my leg. All the time they were screaming at the top of their lungs. Thank goodness Ben was good and we only live 2 doors away.

We stole the idea for updates from the Veteran's forum, so how about we steal the questions idea. Would you all like this or not? If you like the idea would you like to come up with some questions? You could start the thread if you have some good questions or just PM or e-mail them to me. As a group I'm sure we could come up with much more interesting questions than just me. Here are a couple for this week.

1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? Do you have to travel to get there?

2. Do you cook for Thanksgiving? The whole meal, a dish to pass, dessert?

3. If you live in a cold climate, has it snowed yet? If you live in a warm climate, is there some other milestone you use to signify winter?

I'll give my answers later because I need to take a shower.

Wow, Lori, you getting your kids home from the party was like me trying to get my kids from your house to the truck. REFUSALS, SCREAMING, CLINGING, except none of mine were behaved that day. LOL. Good thing for Ben.

The questions:

1) Thanksgiving is here and I am making the meal. Wish me luck. Better yet, wish the people that are eating it good luck.

2) I'm making almost everything. My mom wants to bring coleslaw and rolls. Whatever. She doesn't have to but it's perfectly accepted. LOL.

3) We have about an inch and a half of snow, that is melting by the second. I just bought the girls boots and snowpants and we are excited to try them out.

I am now going to shower as well, then clean out the kitchen cabintes. You are all jealous, I know.

1. We're spending Thanksgiving at home. My Dad may be coming in from Pennsylvania (just like him..he first tells me he's coming, so I go into panic mode because now I have to fix an entire Thanksgiving meal that I hadn't planned on cooking. Then he emails me (yes..he didn't call..) and tells me he hit a deer and he's not sure if he's coming. This was last week. He still has yet to let me know.)

2. I've only ever cooked one big Thanksgiving meal by myself once. But I may do it again this year. Wish me luck!

3. It snowed here yesterday for the first time! None of it stuck, but we were excited! It gets really cold here in the winter (central IL), but we usually get a lot of ice and not a lot of snow.

Time to answer my own questions.

1. We go to my SILs house and spend the day with DH's family. They live about 25 minutes away.

2. This year I won't be cooking anything. The first year we were married I was offended they didn't want me to bring anything. The second year I made a side dish. The third year I didn't go because of my IVF transfer. Since the kids were born I'm grateful I don't have to cook that day. Maybe next year I'll volunteer to bring something again.

3. We have about an inch of snow on the ground. This is our first measurable snow but we had flurries a couple of times earlier. I need to get the kids snow boots.

Chuck is out of town on business this week, and won't be home until after the kiddos go to bed Friday night, so it's a long week for me. ANd my parents just announced that they will be in town tomorrow and would love to stop by and say hello, so now I am in panic mode trying to get the various kid art, scrapbooking stuff, 40 loads of clean laundry piled on my sofa, etc. put away.

Just talked to the insurance adjuster about the van - it is NOT totaled, thank goodness. He did comment that he really hoped he could get all the glass out of the airvents so that when I turned it on, glass didn't come flying out. Um, yeah, that would be important!

My big goal for the week is to get Christmas cards ordered and my name/address list updated. I want to get them in the mail the day after Thanksgiving.

1 - we are spending Thanksgiving Day at my parents' house in Greenville, SC. My inlaws were invited as well, but when they found out that my sister's inlaws were also coming, they came up with an excuse not to attend. Wish I could do the same! Caroline's inlaws are a piece of work. Anyway, we'll be at my parents' for 3 days, then we will go to my inlaws. Chuck is a Clemson grad, and the HUGE annual rival game (Clemson vs USC) is that weekend. My inlaws live very near Clemson, so we'll go there so he can go to the game.

2 - I used to host, but since I'll be staying at my mom's, I will just do whatever is assigned when I get there!

3 - we are near Charlotte, NC. No snow (it only snows once or twice a year here at most). But it is FREEZING here!!!!!

Hello All

1. For Thanksgiving lunch we go to dh's grandparents which is a hour and a half away. Then that evening we go to my parent's which is only 15 min away from my house.

2. I have made pies in the past but this year someone else will be making them so I will bring something easy like rolls.

3. It hasn't snowed her . Right now the mornings are in the 50's and the afternoons are in the 60-70's. We start getting snow around Jan.

Tonight I am excited because I am going to have drinks with some of the MOM members. I can't wait!!! Also this weekend My Hubby and I are taking the kids on a Polar Express train ride. It sounds really fun and I can't wait.

Things are going okay here. I launched my online store, which is what I've been working on and now I have to figure out how to pick from the contest, the five people that go in the drawing. I want to put like EVERYONE in!!!!!

But I'm sick of working on the computer and my head hurts from it.

I love the questions idea. So here's my answers.

1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? Do you have to travel to get there?

We were going to drive from Las Vegas to CA and spend Thanksgiving with my EBIL's house. (E stands for Evil). But then he called two days ago and said they don't have enough ROOM for us. I stayed there one night when I took the kids to Disneyland and they all slept on the floor just fine. But whatever. So we are staying here. I'm going to invite another triplet mom whose DH is in Iraq over since we are now going to be here. I don't want her to spend it alone.

2. Do you cook for Thanksgiving? The whole meal, a dish to pass, dessert?

Yes. Greg does the turkey. He does it all! He makes a HUGE spread.

3. If you live in a cold climate, has it snowed yet? If you live in a warm climate, is there some other milestone you use to signify winter?

Warm climate. We signify winter by the fact the kids are still running around outside barefoot and they aren't burning the soles of their feet off.

Nothing interesting with the hoodlums this week so far (keys words since it is only Tuesday). Working to get all the paperwork finished for Sam's upcoming eye doctor appointment at John Hopkins. We got all the CD's of his brain ultrasounds finally. They are kind of interesting to look at now since we arent as emotional as we were initially. Besides how many parents have pictures of their kids brain on a CD. I also started my clinical rotation for paramedic school over the weekend. Did an 11p-7a shift in the ER at UPMC Mercy in downtown Pittsburgh. Was an interesting evening to say the least.

1. We go my Aunt's house about 10 minutes away as it is the only place big enough to hold everyone.
2. We will take deviled eggs. We have the traditional Thanksgiving spread with all the extras.
3. Yup, snowed here for second time. First was in October (global-warming my a$$). I like winter just would prefer that once it got cold it just stayed cold. Would much rather deal with snow then all the mixed crap (ice, sleet, etc) that we normally get in the winter.

Thanks, Lori, for organizing this! I love the idea.

1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? Do you have to travel to get there?
I am spending the actual day with my dad and stepfamily. My mom gets the weekend. We switch every year. They both live close by so that is really nice.

2. Do you cook for Thanksgiving? The whole meal, a dish to pass, dessert?
Heavens, no! I am jealous of all of you who can cook an entire TG meal. I usually bring a side of green beans and pumpkin bread.

3. If you live in a cold climate, has it snowed yet? If you live in a warm climate, is there some other milestone you use to signify winter?
We live in Texas, so the only real signifier is the absence of ridiculous heat. I'm not a fan, personally. I miss the seasons and colder weather.

We are doing okay here. I had a very stressful day yesterday. I am applying for a permanent teaching position at the university and had to be evaluated by other faculty. STRESSFUL teaching a class in front of other faculty! But I survived. Kept thinking that nothing compares to a triplet pregnancy!

Well, I think I´ll take advantage of the question format to jump in here.

1. We´ll be having Thanksgiving at my parents´house which is just a few blocks away.

2. We always divvy up the menu, and this year I´m doing Parmesan scones (a new addition to the usual fare) and broccoli salad.

3. We live in a temperate climate (thing spring/fall year round), and have rainy and dry seasons. It´s very rainy now, which makes it cold, which I love. The girls and I snuggled under a blanket to read books this morning since we couldn´t go out for a walk. No snow, but we do occasionally get massive hail storms which look like snow. The last one was a year ago..I guess we´re about due for another one.

1. BIL's house. We'll travel about 2 miles by car.
2. Usually, but this time SIL is ordering the whole thing pre-cooked. I'll miss cooking.
3. We're tropical. Monster North Shore surf is our harbinger of winter.

We will be going to my mom's, about 5 mins away. We'll got to my inlaws Sunday for lunch, 2 houses away.

2. Do you cook for Thanksgiving? The whole meal, a dish to pass, dessert?
This year we hve decided that we are not going to cook, so it will be KFC. I will fix a cake or pie the day before. Not sure what my MIL will be having, we never know until we get there.

3. If you live in a cold climate, has it snowed yet? If you live in a warm climate, is there some other milestone you use to signify winter?
No snow, in Alabama we do good to get it once a year. But I just went out side and it was 26 degrees, so I'll call this winter!

I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving again. It seems like this year just started!.

We'll be spending Thansgiving at home this year - as we do almost every year. Everyone seems to congregate here on any holiday that involves food.

I'm cooking the whole thing, as I usually do. I like to cook and my family likes to eat. I'll only have about 10-12 total for dinner this year as my stepdaughter is going to be out of town.

I live in the southwest and I haven't seen anything that resembles winter yet. It was almost 80 degrees yesterday.

Oh yeah...my birthday falls on Turkey day this year!

I haven't had time to read others' responses yet, but I hope everyone is staying warm!

We're coming down from the worst two weeks in history, so I'm pretty much happy if we make it through the day without any food or pee on the floor.

I attended a mom's weekly meeting at the local church today. I didn't burst into flames (unless I'm already dead and don't know it... maybe this is hell?) and I met some really nice moms. Plus I didn't have to watch my kids. BONUS!

1) Don't know what we're doing for Thanksgiving yet.
2) We usually go to my parents' for dinner, but my mom is going out of state, so we might watch my dad burn his garage down trying out his turkey frier. See that AT&T commercial?
3) It's snowed a little, not too much.

Happy Belated Tuesday!

Where are you spending Thanksgiving? Do you have to travel to get there? We are here and everyone is coming to us.......

2. Do you cook for Thanksgiving? The whole meal, a dish to pass, dessert? I will do most of it and then everyone else brings something.

3. If you live in a cold climate, has it snowed yet? If you live in a warm climate, is there some other milestone you use to signify winter? No snow here. I am not a cold person.......Texas is my HOME! I am looking forward to summer- flip flops, shorts, and t-shirts.
