#1303, "Need suggestions for stuffed animals/dolls storage plea..."

I'm always downsizing what we have, but they do play with their stuffed animals and dolls regularly, and like them. However, aside from the ones they keep in their bed, I haven't found a good solution. For awhile, they were stashed on a window seat sill. Then in a basket on the sill. Now in a big mesh basket on the floor. The problem is, it's hard to get to the ones that aren't on top.

So, how do you store/display yours? And how many total do you keep? or does each child have a limit?

I just put a bunch more down the basement to give away, but I know they'll be getting more for Christmas. They each are assembling a family of their favorites. For ex, my one ds loves ducks and each one is either mommy duck, grandpa duck etc. and the others do the same for the animal they love. and of course, sometimes they like more than one animal!

Thanks!

Mary~

Do you have bookshelves? I know bookshelves are ideally made for books - LOL!, but I've been shoving their animals on a shelf so the kids can see them and it's easy access. Although, we don't have a ton of animals, so it's easy for us.

And this isn't really nice and neat, but I've got a flat, rectangular plastic storage bin. Made for sweaters, but I've shoved their animals in that since it's not very deep and they can still see what animals are in there without digging.

We have Pet Nets. They attach to the wall in the corner. I put all their stuffed animals these. If they want one that is up there I get it down for them. The ones they like to play with all the time they keep on their beds also.
I think this is the one we have, but I got our at Wal Mart.

Hi Mary,

We put a lot of the stuffed annimals in one of the open style toy boxes but I just got these fantastic new Little Tikes wood toy organizer thingies (http://www.littletikes.com/toys/toys-detail.aspx?Product_ID=3171) and I am completely IN LOVE with them!!! I put them together this morning and have been gazing at them (and the organized toys) and admiring them. They were fairly expensive, for a toy box, but they are solid wood and are well constructed. We got 2 b/c we have 4 kids under 2.5 and will get a lot of use out of them. If you are interested, Wal-Mart had the cheapest price on them with site-to-store shipping. Anyway, there is enough space for stuffed animals, books, puzzles, and all the little clothes and accessories that go along with dolls. Hurrah! I finally feel like I am getting my living room back!!!
