#1383, "Tuesday Updates 11/25"

I'm posting early because tomorrow morning is busy for me. Can you believe it is one month until Christmas? This year is flying. Since you all seemed to like the questions last week, here are some more. If you have any good questions, please send them to me. Thanks to Tanna for the list. I will be using a couple today.

1. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory? How about a worse Thanksgiving memory?

2. Will you be shopping in the stores on Black Friday? Do you plan to check out the internet specials this weekend?

3. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?

4. What was the last trip you took?

5. What do you normally wear to bed?

I'll be back to answer at some point tomorrow. If it doesn't snow too much I'm going to do some shopping ALONE.

These questions are so funny, but only because I was thinking about most of them in the last few days!

I usually wear some comfy clothes to bed like a t-shirt and sweat pants, or if I'm really lazy, I just strip it all off, lol.

Decorations are a tough one. I looked out the window tonight and saw that while one neighbor has his lit-up Halloween tree up, the neighbor next to him has his Christmas lights up. In our family, we wait until after Thanksgiving, put the roping up and keep it up until Valentine's day because of the snow.

I'm almost afraid to shop Black Friday after last year. I don't know if I'll get to the stores or if I'll just shop online. I *have* to add that I've got some pretty good prices (and sales) on my jewelry right now: http://autumnvine.blogspot.com, and Michele (MSTAR) has a fun giveaway on her mineral makeup on her blog: http://fourtimesthefun.blogspot.com. I might be having my own giveaway once I get all my jewelry uploaded and the site updated. Just an FYI! Good luck to all the brave souls who are going on Friday!

1. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory? How about a worse Thanksgiving memory?

We used to eat Thanksgiving on the screened-in back porch at my Grandma's every year because it was Phoenix and it was always so beautiful out. The women would spend all day making dinner, and we'd dig in and all be finished 10 minutes later. Then we'd laugh about it!

2. Will you be shopping in the stores on Black Friday? Do you plan to check out the internet specials this weekend?

No. What specials. Do tell.

3. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?

We usually don't put them up until the week before Christmas. But this year, the kids are hounding me already!

4. What was the last trip you took?

We drove from Las Vegas to Traverse City Michigan with all the kids and then back. But the last vacation "I" took was to Hawai'i with just one kid for 8 glorious days last March.

5. What do you normally wear to bed?

A t-shirt.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Loren, I bought a necklace! I tried to stay away. I did. But I caved.

I know you did... I finished it at 5 o'clock this morning! You should get it by the weekend.

We should've just swapped - makeup for jewelry

That's a really cute idea! You should definitely think of all the themes women do for bachelorette parties (right now my mind is blank, but you know what I mean). Do you make the entire veil yourself or do you buy them and add the decorations?

The one layer veils I make but the 2 layer veils I buy and then add the decor. I am going to add some pic's of my bach party and my sisters to show us wearing the veils. Good Idea about the themes. It makes me excited just to think of all the different designs. HEHE, I'm a geek!

Well, I am sitting here feeling sorry for myself. Ridiculous - there are a lot of people out there who would kill for my life. I have a house, a car (well, a rental!), 4 basically healthy kids, and a loving DH. And all 4 kids in school today, which is always good. And the broken foot is my left, so I can still drive. I need to suck it up and quit wallowing in self-pity.

But this foot HURTS!!!! A LOT!!!! I was tough for the first few days, but the novelty of crawling or hopping everywhere has long since worn off and I am just sick of it. I can't sleep because it hurts. I jumped up in the middle of the night last night and forgot about it, and I swear it hurts more now than it did to start with.

I'm drained from worrying about people close to me. I know that's terrible, but it is just so tiring. I have told y'all about my sister and good friend, but there is other random horrible stuff that keeps going on to people around me. I'm just mentally exhausted, you know?

I would love to just escape for a little while.

Are y'all totally sick of hearing me complain? I'm sorry. I have been quite negative lately, I know.

If it makes you feel better, I fell down the stairs at Texas Tech right as the bell rang and sprained BOTH of my ankles. I had to have another student(who I didn't know) carry me to a professor's car. I couldn't use crutches because both my ankles were severly sprained so I had to lay in bed for a week. If I had to get food or go to the bathroom I had to crawl because it hurt too bad to walk. I hope you get better soon!!

1) I don't think I have a favorite Thanksgiving memory or a worse memory. They have all been good. But if I have to pick then I would say the worst was the year my sister and cousin were preggers at the same time and I had just gotten back another neg preg test. The best we will say last year because it was my babies 1st.

2) HECK no. I have to work the day after so there is no way I am getting up early just to shop.

3) I like to get my Decor up really early, like the first of Nov. BUT this year since we are going to try a real tree we plan go and get it this weekend and then put it up with all the decor.

4) Last trip to to Ruidoso, New Mexico. My Mom and I went, with no babies.

5) A t-shirt and pj pants. (sexy )

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I think this is actually the first time I've answered the Tuesday questions on Tuesday!.

1. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory? How about a worse Thanksgiving memory?

Gosh - All my Thanksgiving memories are good. But there are 2 that stand out. One year, when I was about 13-14 my mom and I decorated the finished turkey. We did things like make it a neclace out of cranberries and flowers out of carrots, etc. It was really fun and all our family had a good laugh that we dressed the turkey.

The other one was when my Mom and Grandma already moved to Las Vegas. I spent Thanksgiving with my brother and his girlfriend - just the three of us. We had a 14 lb turkey (that my brother forgot to take out of the freezer the day before) and made like 5 lbs of mashed potatoes. My brother got recipes from my grandmother and neglected to scale them down so they would be appropriate for 3 people!. We still laugh about that.

2. Will you be shopping in the stores on Black Friday? Do you plan to check out the internet specials this weekend?
Hell no. I don't like shopping to begin with. Dealing with crazy people and crowds is more than I can handle. I'll be buying at Sam's club, Tuesday morning and on-line.

3. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?
X-mas decorations always go up the day after Thanksgiving in our family. Just one of those traditions.

4. What was the last trip you took?
Went to NY to visit my brother and see his new twin girls this past June. It was a great trip.

5. What do you normally wear to bed?
Nice comfy PJ pants and a t-shirt.

I hope everyone has a Safe, Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving.

1. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory? How about a worse Thanksgiving memory?

They are all good memories. It's such a nice relaxing holiday.

2. Will you be shopping in the stores on Black Friday? Do you plan to check out the internet specials this weekend?

HELL NO!!! I used to work retail all through college and always had to work SUPER early that day. I avoid it like the plague. Plus I'm 90% done with Christmas shopping.

3. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?

Usually Thanksgiving weekend.

4. What was the last trip you took?
We just spent a month in South Dakota where I grew up. We are leaving a week from tomorrow to be there for the month of Dec. It's only 1400 miles in the car. Thank God for the DVD player!

5. What do you normally wear to bed?
I don't normally splurge on clothes but I absolutely LOVE the Super Soft stuff from The Gap! It's all I will sleep in now!

We are having a nice quiet Thanksgiving at our house with the kiddos before we travel again next week. I'm looking forward to it being just us! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

1.A Bad Thanksgiving Memory was back about 7 years ago. I was working as a Paramedic and my first 4 calls of the day (Thanksgiving Day) were people who had burns from trying to deep fry a turkey and setting their bodies and yards on fire. I could not get the smell of burned flesh and turkey out of head for days. YUCK!!!!!! The rest of the day was spent picking up cardiac patients having chest pains from over eating!

2.Shopping on Black Friday...I worked at WalMart for too many years during Black Friday! I will be at home in PJ's checking out the internet deals. I got really great free shipping and no sales tax deals last year at Sears.com on top of sale prices. Target also had great deals online that day with $.01 shipping on toys.

3.The Day after Thanksgiving

4.Marriage Retreat with the DH in Oct. We go every year and have a blast.

5.Long sleeve comfy tee shirt

Fun Questions!

I finally have time to answer. It has been an annoying week. The kids are SO cranky. I do not handle it the best all the time and get very frustrated. At least 2 of them are getting 2 year molars so that is probably a factor. We have diarreha (sp?) making the rounds too. The kids had a meltdown about an hour after going to bed tonight. When we brought them down, it turns out Katie had a poopy blowout. Then Abby threw up all over DH when we were taking them back to bed. I hope that was an isolated incident. I started not feeling well myself late this afternoon. It would not be nice to be sick for Thanksgiving.

1. Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving memory? How about a worse Thanksgiving memory?

My worse Thansgiving memory was my grandmother dying 9 years ago. I was working in Florida. It was a quick, unexpected illness and I did not get a chance to say goodbye. My best Thanksgiving memory was 3 years ago when I had my IVF transfer Thanksgiving morning. I've always thought God gave me a wonderful blessing to make that day special again.

2. Will you be shopping in the stores on Black Friday? Do you plan to check out the internet specials this weekend?

There isn't anything in the world that would get me out at 5am to shop. I do like shopping later that day but not this year. There is no one to watch the kids and I'm not crazy enough to take them. I do hope to get some internet deals. We are getting wooden doll cradles for the girls and I'm trying to get them on sale with free shipping too.

3. When do you put your Christmas decorations up?

I start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. Hopefully the tree will get decorated by early next week.

4. What was the last trip you took?

Right before I got pregnant we took a couple of long football weekends at Penn State. DH was working but I got to have fun. The last real vacation we took was our first anniversary. We went to Lancaster.

5. What do you normally wear to bed?

A sleepshirt. I hate sleeping in pants. They get all twisted up.
