'Thought you'd all like to know how things are going.

With Caeleigh, we talked on December 30, 2008. Ladies, we have not had another episode of bad habits since then. Amazing.

Of course, it should be noted that on Sunday morning when she got dressed she pulled out her dress-up bride's veil and put that on her head to wear to church. She then announced that she wanted to get married now. It suddenly hit me that she might have ulterior motives and I really struggled not to laugh out loud at the implications. I assured her that she would get married one day, but probably not for another 20 years.

As for Caidan, this morning I was awakened from deep sleep at roughly 5:00 a.m. with a small boy beside me and hands slipping up to my head. I remained half-asleep, constantly aware whenever his hands moved towards my head and pushing them away. I finally growled and told him, "If you reach for my hair one more time, you're out of here!!" I made him promise he won't do that to me this morning.

Ah well. We're at a 50/50 score right now. And, frankly, I prefer having my son pull my hair at church than, well, you know...

Seriously Cat I think your being over the top about the hair thing, There will come a time that you will long for your baby boy to want to cuddle with you. At his age you are taking his security away from him, do you really think that you should be doing this now. I just do not see what the big deal is about you letting him play with your hair. Your a mom not a prison guard.

Honey, if he were simply "playing" with my hair, that would be quite alright with me. Unfortunately, he does not simply play with it. He pulls on it and it leaves my head sore all over. It has come to the place where my head is constantly sore, and I've become sensitive to anyone reaching towards my head and/or touching my head, knowing that my hair is going to be pulled.

I adore cuddling with him, and routinely do so. And, you're right about my not wanting to lose cuddle time with him. If he could stop at simply "playing" with my hair, this would be quite alright with me. In fact, I've allowed this for nearly five years now, but the bigger/stronger he gets, the more painful it becomes.
