#42, "bikes/trikes recomendations"

Hi,
Does anyone have recommendations for bikes/trikes for 2 year-olds. Any bikes that I should steer away from (no pun intended ?

Thanks!

At that age we did the little Kettler trikes with the parent handle in back (it can detach) and have been very happy with them. They rode them for a long time. There's a less expensive version of this bike sold at Toys R Us that is also made by Kettler. When they turned four or five we did the Radio Flyer Twist Trikes, more of a big wheel, but a neat concept. Those are probably too big for a two year old though; I'd stick with a smaller trike for starters. Truthfully, mine were closer to three before they got the real hang of 'pedaling.' For that reason we had fun with a lot of little ride-ons that they could push with their feet as well.

Ellyn, the three little Z's(bbb 4/12/02), two littler S's(gb 7/22/04)
and seven other siblings(yes, that's 12!!)

I am getting the Schwinn Roadsters for my boys for Christmas. From the online reviews I've read, the Radio Flyers tip over very easily, as do the cheaper brands. Someone on TC recommended the Schwinns, and after reading all the positive reviews, those are the ones I am going with.

Kettlers come highly recommended, too, but with an insane price tag, especially when you are buying 3!

We have the Radio Flyer ones, and the kids love them. They were able to ride them quickly and they are still riding them.

We have the Radio Flyers and the girls LOVE them. They have big girl bikes and still chose these half the time. We got ours at Walmart I wanna say they were 29.99. They have a little hatch compartment on the back that they love to stash stuff in and I haven't had any expereince with them tipping over easily.
