Some boosters have the LATCH, and some don't - it seems like Latch is better, but I thought it only could be used up to 40 lbs? My mom's car seat says that

I'm confused all over again - I go through this with every new stage of car seats!!!!!!!!!

I had the same questions when I moved my boys from the convertibles to the boosters.

When used with a Booster, the LATCH is really only intended to prevent an unoccupied seat from flying around the car in the event of a crash. It is not intended to assist in restraining the child.

I ended up purchasing the Sunshine Monterey boosters. This is the info I found on their site pertaining to Latch:

**A Note on LATCH Weight Limits: Your vehicle may state a set weight limit for its LATCH anchors (40 or 48 lbs). This weight limit does not apply to booster seats with LATCH as the Lower Anchors on a booster seat are only intended to secure the weight of the booster seat itself (approximately 16 lbs. in this case). The vehicle's lap and shoulder belts secure the weight of the child; because of this, you can use LATCH with the Monterey up to 120 lbs.
