It isnt until mid april but I am going to AZ - alone!!!! I cant wait. I have a few friends to visit there, but am mainly jsut going to relax. I will be staying in Scottsdale. With all the divorce and stress and such I so deserve this.. I think anyway lol... I been working a few extra days to save some money for it. It has been too long since a real vacation...

Now, for you locals.. What do you suggest for things I HAVE to see? I never been to AZ before.. I have a rental car lined up as well so if you can let me know what recommendations for things, food, jsut anything..

If you have time, definitely try to get to Sedona. It's WELL worth the trip. And the Grand Canyon isn't too much further than Sedona if you're already up there, but I prefer Sedona.
Where will you be staying in Scottsdale? I live in Scottsdale and would be happy to show you around a little. If you let me know what you're interested in I can think about it and make a list of things to see. April it should still be pretty nice here and not too hot. Where will you be staying? There are some AMAZING spas here if you have the time and $ for that. And there are some really great restaurants.
If you want to see the desert (it really is beautiful) I'd recommend either hiking, a horseback ride or a jeep tour around the Boulders in North Scottsdale. I can give you info on some good, fairly easy hiking trails.

I think i will be staying at the Sheraton Desert Oasis..

I like anything.. I am always game. When I was in vegas once i saw part of the grand canyon on a day drive, but other than that nothing around there..

I love spas, and rpetty much anything that wont kill me LOL.. I am trying to get in shape before I go now, since divorce equalied weight gain stress here lol. and it isnt even final!!!

You'll have a blast! I went last year, to AZ, with my dad. We live in Indiana. I have an aunt that lives in Phoenix & we stayed with her. We are going again in July this year. When it is scorching hot!

We ate at a place called Mimi's Cafe for breakfast & it was awesome. I don't know if they have one in Scottsdale. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of a little town we went to. It is like an old west town & had the best mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at...El' Encanto. I'm sure they will have lots of little shops in Scottsdale. Those are always fun to go to.

Well as everything else goes, now this is up in the air. AGAIN.

I received an email from my mother yesterday and it had cc'd in my dad as well, saying i shouldnt go on vacation and so on. UGH. its one of those no win situations now, if i go she will make my life H$ll.. and if i dont go i will be super sad, angry and depressed lol.. UGH makes me mad. This whole situation.. I cant handle being treated with no respect, and like i am 12. I am renting her their rental house from them, and she only a BLOCK away.. Not something i recommend BTW!

I was going to purchase my ticket today... so now I dontk now what to do yet.. Just besides lots of thinking...

Kelli - If it's reasonably affordable, I would just buy the ticket and go, damn the consequences. They'll get over it. Maybe you should ask your mom when you're allowed to live and have fun again. Two years? Five? Maybe when your grandkids are out of college? Life is meant for living

Ugh I know... but the one positive (and yes there is only positive) thing about NOT going until later, is that now I can work on losing this 75 lbs I gained in the marriage with stress the past few years. I know I will feel, and look a lto better, and be able to enjoy myself 100% more! So I am working on that hard right now..

Today the dh came to pick something up and said, is there someone here. I am like no. He said well there is tracks in the driveway. Man I am so glad i left lol.. Then 5 minutes later my mom called and said, is andy there? I saw that he was what did he want. Its like OMG is there like a video camera showing who is comign and going or hat lol Feel like I have some stalkers..

Tomorrow I am having my tubes tied, and a diagnostic laparoscopy. I cant wait as sad as that sounds lol.. Its like a mini break lol..

Loren we should meet up some time with the kids if not super far away. I want to take them on a mini vaca this summer too.. I am in southern MN.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at the comment about stalkers! They need hobbies that don't involve monitoring your life, LOL.

I'm not too far from MN... I'm between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo/Cedar Falls. Then again, anything within 6 hours driving time is considered close to me

Approx 202 miles apart... Not bad.. I am near Blue Earth, MN.. My surgery tomorrow is in Albert Lea, MN though. Straight up 35!

So sorry to hear that. It sure sounds like you could use a break. Too bad your family doesn't recognize that. However, fall will be here soon enough, and I'm sure that losing some weight will make you enjoy yourself more (sad as that sounds). I know... I have been so unsuccessful and unmotivated to lose my extra weight, even though it affects how I feel every day. Good luck! And keep those stalkers away! lol
