Dearest children, it is apparently a holiday for schools, banks and the babysitter, but mommy still needs to work. No, you may not go outside, color the walls, eat any more of the office candy or talk on the telephone. You may not use my computer. I just need all three of you to SHUT UP and watch your movie on the expensive portable DVD player so that I can finish this damn report and take the rest of this day off. Stop pulling your brother's shirt, do not chew on your own shirt and put that paper back in the trash.

After this, we need to stop at the dry cleaner, grocery store, and Target to get your school supply list. All of these errands would take a little less than 2 hours if I was alone. I figure this will take the rest of the day and cost me a few dirty looks and at least one pure bribery toy per child. If it wasn't for the fact I would be arrested, I would do what I remember doing at your age- sitting by myself in the car with the window cracked. I wish I could do that. At least when you are buckled into your seats, you can't further destroy anything else.

That is too funny. I work from home too and that pretty much describes my life once the kids are home from school. I always think I am going to schedule my day so that I can "take a break" from work in the afternoon, but that rarely happens!
