#7450, "Should I GIVE UP???"

Mine started using a plate at about 12 months old. They have done fine with it up until the last couple of weeks. Now after having their plates in front of them for a few minutes, one decides to dump his/her food on their tray and eat it...AND of course, the others follow. I guess I should be happy that they don't dump it on the floor... ha ha Anyways, should I just serve them their food on the tray or stick it out with the plates and let them dump it out??

For a long time we had to put the plate with only a few things on it. If we were serving noodles, there would be one or two bites of noodles. Otherwise it ended up on the floor, their hair, the wall...etc. slowly we built up to putting one serving of each food on their tray at a time...all the noodles at once, and when they were done with that course we would move on to the next one. Eventually we worked up to two courses...etc. Until now, all but the fruit is on their plate now. (we treat the fruit as dessert at meals)

You might need to take a step back and regroup...sometimes they go through a stage and it is just easier to take the problem away for a month and then try again than to beat your head on that brick wall for a month.
