#7692, "2 wheelers bikes-12 inch or 16 inch????"

We want to get the trio 2-wheelers for their 4th b-day . We were at Walmart & they were riding the 2 wheelers with training wheels .They LOVED them and road them all around the store with us running after them (what a scene).

My trio are all around 36-38 inch height..so not sure if we should get the 12" or 16"...I see walmart has the ones i think $60,i also am looking at used ones but most does not come with training wheels ..

Any suggestions?

We had the same dilemma!

We bought ONE 16, and it was too "awkward." They spent more energy trying not to tip over than learning to pedal. A few months later, my parents bought them three 12s, and they're now pedaling like champs. We'll probably try the 16 again at the end of this summer, and buy them two more after they turn 6. HTH!

we have the 12" and it has worked well. low enough that they weren't scared to ride them (3.5yo), and we just took the training wheels off (5yo) and very glad the bikes are 12".

My kids are 43-44 inches tall and are just now fitting the 16" bikes correctly! I'd go with the 12" bikes. I think it is more important that they fit them correctly. Mine wouldn't even touch the bigger ones as they just didn't feel secure on them and the bike was not only too tall, but too much room between the seat and the handle bars making steering very awkward!

Also, I think Toys 'R Us has 1 or 2 14" bikes. You could take them there to try out that size.
