HI,
My 2 girls did that when I first started PT them and I started to put the gerber plastic pants over their underwear and that really started to work. They did not like feeling wet. So I would give them a try. I am not sure if they are really ready but if they are doing well at home they just might need to get used to wearing underwear. I completely stopped the pullups even at night. I think it does confuse them. 2 of mine are done but the 3rd one is a challenge.

OK -- that makes sense!! But during the 2 weeks of bare-bottomness, what do you do if you have to leave the house? First, I go looney being stuck inside 24 hours with them. Second, we have to leave for certain things like speech therapy, music class, etc. Do I just need to suck it up for 2 weeks and get used to cabin fever?
Thanks for the advice!!

Ok, so at age 3 I think this is a great time to start trying…but just so you know I wouldn’t worry about it as long as they are trained by 5 (that’s what most schools require)…I have potty trained many children in the past…ages 16 months to age 3 My opinion is this: Potty training takes full dedication…Once you begin there s no turning back… It is something that not only the boys must be ready for but that you must be ready for as well..get a sitter..call in a family member…but it will work best if you can dedicate a full week to not leaving home…this is extremely hard I know… Quick tips: Get some books that focus on using the potty, make a star chart, involve washing hands afterwards (that can be a fun reward for some kids), perhaps get a boy doll that they can take potty… Car rides: if they are a MUST….after the week at home take short trips that do not have time restrictions, take a potty in your car so that if you need to pull over for a potty request you can…go to babys r us…get a peddler…it’s a small plastic cover you put in their car seat that is easy in and easy out to clean… take lots of extra close. They wet their pants they are responsible to clean it…the must climb out of their wet car seat take their pants off wipe down, get dressed and put pee pee clothes in a baggie… Above all…make sure that even when your at home…if they pee in their pants they need to clean it…that means what could have taken 5 min. to pee, they are now taking 15 min to clean..from putting clothes in a sink and ringing them out to wiping floor up… Letting them run naked will not help…bc then they will only be potty trained when naked…after a while of cleaning (which I promise will somehow exhaust you more than just cleaning it yourself…) they will get it together and connect the dots…Im telling you it works!!
Just my advice
