Is there a way to find local playgrounds that are fenced-in (other than driving around looking for them)? I have GGB triplets who are 20 months, and they scatter like cockroaches whenever I take them to an open playground. It's hard enough keeping my eye on all three of them at the same time, much less making sure they don't run off into the woods or a parking lot or to someone else's picnic, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mine CLIMBED playground fences - right up and over at 18 months, but they at least slowed them down a little when they were trying to escape. When we were new to the area, we kept our eyes peeled for them and asked other moms (espcially those with multiples).

I would try your parks and recreation department. Our town's department has a website with lots of info on each park. Or just call the office - I'm sure the staff there knows local parks very well and could steer you in the right direction. Good luck!

In our area, you can check the parks and rec department, and the ones for little kids with fences are called "tot lots". Maybe yours has a similar phrase to let you know.

Lots of churches (in our area, at least), have wonderful fenced in playgrounds that are open to the public, except preschool mornings. We've routinely visited several area church playgrounds since the boys were teeny!

That reminded me - we go to public school playgrounds regularly too. Obviously not during school hours! But those are usually fenced in and we often have them to ourselves.
