#8243, "Anyone Homeschooling Preschool?"

Anyone homeschooling their triplets? Mine are 4 years old (BBG), and although I do not homeschool - I would like to supplement what their learning at school, at home, on a more in-depth level. I would like to know how you go about keeping their attention, with things that feel like "work" - repetition in writing skills, sounding letters etc...Any ideas? My kids seem to want to just play and have not been as excited in school as much this year. In addition,
I am not very happy with my daughter's preschool lately. For whatever reason, she seems to not be as interested in school this year as in the previous year. My boys had ear tubes and are a tad speech delayed and have had the benefit of a great early childhood class. Compared to my daughter, they seem to be doing excellent academically, where she still has trouble with the alphabet, sounding letters and her name is not written as clearly as theirs. I'm concerened and want to help - just want to make it not seem like "work" for the both of us.

Thank you!

I'm not homeschooling, but I have a friend that will be starting with hers soon (they do some things now, but it will become more intense once the school year begins in the fall). One of the things she had talked about using was something called Handwriting without tears. I haven't used it (my kids just turned 3yo) so I'm still working on the correct grip. I see that Therapro.com (a site I have used before) has the Handwriting W/O Tears program and a few others. You might try looking there for ideas if not products. I thought the game with the play-doh looking stuff that you roll and then shape into the letters looked pretty cool, but you probably could do that with what you already have, and maybe just incorporate that into some of her playdoh time, kwim?

Thanks...I appreciate it. Preschool is expensive and if I can cut down the days of the week my daughter goes to school and supplement with some "quality learning time" from me...it will help both my concerns.
