#8401, "Monitors at 23 months?"

Hi, I am recently a new member to triplet connection. I have 23 month old BBG triplets. I have searched this site every day since i found out we were having three! I'm just now figuring how to get more involved in the triplet community and grasping the concept I have nothing comparable to mom's on one baby?! Anyway, I have 23 month old triplets and cannot hear them from my bedroom I used a normal audio graco monitor, but Its time to upgrade or simply just get a new one( it beeps all night) and for the most part my trio. sleep all night! Any suggestions on what to get or advice. They are all still in cribs in one bedroom.
Thanks
Alexis

We just got a new one, a Sony, and, yes, we still use monitors at 4. We have a two story house and a couple acres of land and cannot hear them well when downstairs, in the basement, or outside. The old monitors had static, clicking, beeping and buttons were starting to give out.

Having a monitor is so convenient for us that we will likely keep them for a long time. I especially like the fact the girls don't have to wander around the house to find us when they need us, nor scream loudly to call for us (which always wakes the others up...we have light sleepers).

We have the Summer Infant Day and Night Monitor that comes with the 7 inch LCD screen (we put on the bedside table) and then a handheld unit to carry around. We LOVE it!! The video monitor is invaluable for us. We don't even use the sound portion since we can hear them through our whole house, but it is great if you hear someone cry to be able to look and see if they are laying down trying to fall back asleep, or if they have a limb stuck in the crib. The night vision part even makes their eyes glow green when whey are open. It was a little pricey - $200 on Amazon - but worth it. If nothing else, it is good for entertainment value to see what they do in their crib during "nap" time. We did also have to get an extra camera so that we could get all 3 cribs in view.

We have the Lorex video monitor with two cameras....

We absolutely love this thing. I love how I can view two different rooms at the same time. Found it at Costco for about $120 and worth every penny. HTH

Hi Stacey. Thanks for the info. My only concern is how to you attach the monitors? On Amazon it says they snap on the crib? I have two wild boys!! and my trio are all in the same room with their cribs lined against the wall. I am scared they would remove the cameras? Where do you attach yours? Thanks for all of the help.

In my boys' room I just have it on their dresser and in my daughter's room it is just high on a shelf. At one time I had it mounted high up on the wall. The camera swivels so you can either hang it up or just let it sit on a piece of furniture.

Another really neat feature is that you can talk to them over the monitor. Just the other day at nap time my boys were really playing around so instead of going upstairs and then into thier room I just told them to knock it off over the monitor. They get so quiet when I do this because they still can't figure out how I know what they are doing and where my voice is coming from.
HTH

We also upgraded our monitor or traded our old one in for a new one when our triplets were around the same age. We ended up getting a video monitor that allowed us to talk to them and them to talk for us. This has been great.. especially since we made the transition to big kid beds when they turned three years old.

So we got the Lenox monitor and it did not work. I guess our room was to far from their room and it would not keep a signal. It would only work if we were in the den. Any other suggestions or brands that worked for anyone else.
Thanks for the help
(i was able to return from amazon)

That's a shame it didn't work. I even take my monitor outside with me and still get a perfect signal to the bedrooms upstairs. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
