Hi,

I have 5 year old triplet girls which are all pretty much happy all the time. They are in a stable household but one of my girls is starting to lose her hair in spots. She has always had very thin hair. Anybody have this issue and what did you do? I don't notice hair pulling or clumps of hair on her bed.

thanks
Karen

At 14 months old, One of my twins had general thinning of her hair a couple months after she had a very high fever from kidney infection. It was called telogen Effluvium. A year and a half later her hair is straighter and thinner than her ID twin. She did not lose hair in patches.

There are two issues I have personally seen that cause hair to fall out, I am sure there are many more. One is the fungus Tinea capitis which is also called ringworm. It is easily cured. The second is alopecia, which can be caused by many different issues such as illness, stress, iron deficiency, allergy, etc.

I hope you can track down the cause.
