#8470, "twin bed configuration"

hi, my kids have outgrown their crib mattresses (currently on the crib platform or on the floor, depending on the day and I'm trying to figure out the best way to fit 3 twin beds in their room.

here are the possibilities:

1) 3 twin beds with a small nightstand in between each. this option takes up a lot of floor space, but the girls each have the exact same bed.

2) 2 beds with trundles, gives an extra bed for big sister or a guest. when the trundles are under the beds, there's some floor space for play, but they'll have to negotiate who gets the beds and who gets the trundle

3) low loft/captain beds. they're lower than bunk beds, so less worry about injury. there are some cute ones that can be adapted to look like castles and give privacy. really fun but again, they'll have to negotiate who sleeps on the bottom.

thoughts? what works for you? what doesn't work?

thanks SO much!
Eema

We have all 3 twin beds and it is tight, but it really was our only option. All three fall out of bed at least once a month yet, even at 5! The other option we asked them about was the trundle bed, and they started fighting over while just talking about it. So I gave up and decided that 3 twin beds was easier for everyone all round.

Did you decide yet?
We're having the same dilemma. I feel really bad with them cramped into their toddler beds, but can't decide what we want to do next. We have another room that is the toy room right now. It will eventually be our son's room (we have GGB) but he's not ready to sleep in his own room yet.
I've seen a bunk with a trundle so we're considering that. If we get one with a full bed on the bottom and trundle we can use the full mattress on his convertible bed when he's ready for it in his own room.
I'm worried about the height of a bunkbed too, but I think one of our girls is agile and coordinated enough to handle it - even in her sleep. <the other is definately not >
I don't want the beds to take up too much space in the room - they love to have lots of room to dance .
What to do? What to do?
