Since I've been accused or commenting about my "perfect" and "brilliant" children, I thought that I'd create a new post for this one:

While I was busily organizing their playroom, my young son became intriqued by the size of an M&M as compared with his nostril. He came to me to proudly exhibit what one can do with an M&M and one's nasal passage.

'Nuff said?

Yeah. I know. He and Einstein.

ROFLMBO! That's a hoot!

Something similar happened to my brother, but it involved another orifice.

He was laying on the couch playing with the baby tooth that he had just pulled. It just happened to land in his ear and it dropped further down the canal as he desperately tried to pry it out. He did the whole kick-your-leg-to-the-side-thing....ya know, like when you have water in your ear...He was totally freaking out at that point. He could hear it rattling around but the sucker would not pop out.

We all took a ride to the local ER. I still remember the look on the idiot nurse's face when mom told her that little bro had a tooth in his ear. Her first question? "Was he born that way?" Seriously?

ROFLMBO!! Too funny! How'd they get it out? Or did they? And, what'd the tooth fairy think of that one? (Probably left him the e.r. bill!!)

You should have seen the look on my son's face when I asked how he was going to get that thing out of his nose. When he tried, the heat had softened it and it broke in his nose. From there, I pressed down a bit to extract part of it, but he was forced to blow chocolate from his nose. It was priceless and I wish I had a photo of the green M&M protruding slightly out of his nostril.

It reminds me of the story I once heard about a kid putting a bean up his nose. I always wondered why anybody would do something like that. Is it just a boy thing?

Cat,
In my experience, boys are either pulling stuff out of their noses or putting stuff in. I swear my ds's finger was permanently stuck up his nose for the first 4 years of his life. It drove me crazy
It has to be a boy thing!

Nope, not a boy thing.

We had a TicTac once. ALMOST made a stop at urgent care on the way to our destination when it was sneezed out and launched 15 feet away.

Popcorn kernals in both nostrils. Two each. Got the first 2 out, but had to go to urgent care for the other 2. Different girl.

Ear infections all around. Doc looks in one ear and says "there's something white in there." "Oh, you mean like mucus?", I say with my nose wrinkled in disgust. "No, more like a foreign object." Interrogation and of course the child did NOT put anything in here ear. But when he lets me look through the otoscope I think it's one of those plastic beans that are in stuffed animals. Doc is CLUELESS- doesn't know what I'm talking about. Flushes it out, and YEP, I was right. At least is wasn't a bean that sprouted. Oh, this was "popcorn girl".

I should mention that DS hasn't put anything IN his nose, but he routinely likes to remove his crusty boogers and place them on the wall. "Well mah-um, I wasn't going to EAT it!"

Honey, be grateful. You've never lived until one of your children decides to indulge in a "wee snack" right in the middle of their class performance in the Christmas show.

ACCKK! The walls and boogers! People who think I'm obsessive for cleaning the walls all the time DO NOT have FIVE boys!

Great one! Apparently my dh had an affinity for putting things in his nose and ears - his parents were contacted by CPS b/c he was in the ER so much! I have been lucky that my 3 (BOYS!) have not repeated that pattern.

Oh, yeah... But are you promising me that this type of debauchery is going to cease once he's officially six?? That occurs in less than four months now, and I am more than ready for this type of shannanigan to stop!

Still, I'd love to have the photo of him with the green M&M peeking out of his nose. I guess that's "the one that got away," huh?

Well no he is a boy I can not promise you anything other than frogs in his pockets, and the fact that any sound the body makes (farts, burps etc) will be something that is very funny.
