...what's the deal with the homework? LOL!

Is anyone getting a lot of little papers to complete each night? Times three, of course.

Yikes!

I get that as a parent, it's my job to educate, reinforce concepts and drill my kids, but every night? For Kindergartners?

Oh just wait Lisa!!! I want to rip my hair out after school. Personally I think my 2nd Graders have way too much homework. For craps sake they are at school for 7 hours. I can see a little review after school. But what my kids are bring home I feel like I am doing the teaching! It's insane and I hate every minute of it. Can't wait for the homework in the coming years. I hear it only gets worse! GREAT looking forward to it! NOT! lol

My oldest is in Kindergarten and she also has something every single night. I think its completely ridiculous at this age. I can see a couple times a week but every night is annoying. I'm already dreading when I have to do it times 3.

Seriously! I can barely make dinner! And there are nights, I don't!

And then don't even get me started on their frustrations. Sometimes, we get a good groove going and they're really neat and concentrating on their handwriting, etc. I can tell they're enjoying themselves.

But, oh boy. When they aren't understanding something, they just shut down and give up.

And you're right, Terri. A little review would be great, but 5 pages in a little workbook? Granted, they only have a few little questions, but still.

We did this worksheet on symmetry and I was even getting mad! LOL!

Mine are in second and I'm having some mental block this year. I take all the homework out and don't know who it belongs too. I didn't do that the past 2 years and this year they write homework down too. I'm gonna have to initial who it belongs to before I take it out of the folders. Usu Moms call me and ask what the homework is, the other day I called 3 Moms from 3 different classes to narrow it down. Luckily I know one of the teachers and she is patient with me having a trio.
