#1100, "Need Ideas For Reward Chart Please"

We are implementing a new rewards system in our house thanks to a magazine article I read in Family Fun Magazine (http://familyfun.go.com/) about printing up "Daddy Dollars" that the kids can save up and then spend in the "Mommy Mart" for rewards.

We printed them off from this website: http://www.festisite.com/money/ and they look AWESOME! The kids are really excited to get started too. Here are the ideas that we have for rewards. I would like to come up with some more -- especially individual ones. Any ideas?

Extra Book or Snuggle Time…...........$3

Bike Ride.................................$3

30 Minutes on Computer.....................$3

You Pick / Extra TV Show..................$5

You Decide Dessert..............................$5

Daddy Does Your Chores for a Day....$5

Imaginarium or Nature Center……...$10

Daddy or Mommy Sleep Over...........$11

Friend Playdate……...........................$15

Back Yard Camping...........................$17

Maybe something like being the only one to help mom make cookies. My kids love to help but they always debate over who's turn it is to stir or drop the cookies on the cookie sheet.
A special craft project? Either one you can do at home or a visit to a ceramic shop where kids can paint their own plate/cup/figurine.
Go out for "coffee" with a parent. My kids love to go into starbucks for a hot coco.
King or Queen for a day. Anything that involves a choice, that person gets to pick it. Like choosing where to sit at the table or in the car, pick what to have for dinner (or just the side dish/vegg) or anything that they fight over that child gets to pick or go first.
Good luck,

Shell~

Ohhh - those are GREAT! Thanks so much. I especially love the craft one. I can buy little "kits" at the craft store to have ready too.

I forgot to mention that my kids are 6yrs old and in the first grade -- if that helps anyone come up with more....

How about lunch out with Mom or Dad? My kids love to go alone with one of us to the store and it's so much easier than taking everyone and usually includes a meal.

I love the idea of saving up for a larger reward or spending on a smaller one. Hopefully that will carry over to actual spending habits later.

Great idea! It will also teach them about saving and spending. We always have problems implementing the stuff outside the house. We have a "big reward" on our chart, they get to pick the reward. One time my son picked not having to pick up toys--his brothers were not happy. I always have the problem that my boys want to share the reward, which is great because I want them to share but my little one doesn't care about trying to get his own, he just rides on his brothers coattails
