Do you have them for your 5 year olds?

Love 'em? Hate 'em?

Motorized or not?

If you have them, what brand did you go with?

Can you believe I'm thinking of Christmas presents and we haven't even gone trick or treating yet?

Lisa

My twins are 8 years old now and have had a Razor scooter for a couple of years. My 5 year olds have had the smaller 3 wheeled ones, but for the last year have only wanted to be on their older brother's scooters. I have already purchased them the Razor ones for Christmas. I go for the old fashioned, leg powered ones because I want them to play and get excercise. I always make them wear a helmet. We have all the pads for when we go skating. I should probably make them wear those too. They will probably get skinned up at times though. One of my girls was on her brother's scooter 2 weeks ago and fell and skinned up her nose and lip just in time for school pictures. I don't know how it happened really. I wasn't home at the time. She was out side with her Dad. I am not surprised. She is my one always getting skinned up.

Yeah, I'm with you on the exercise thing with the leg powered scooters.

I just have nothing up my sleeve for a cool Christmas gift and thought I could score some scooters if I knew a trusted name and they were on sale, of course.

I'll look into the Razors.

Thanks for the tips.

I bought them early because Toys R us was running a good sale on them about a month aago and I knew they wanted them. I usually see them in Target ads every once in awhile too.

I second the Razor scooters Lisa. My kids have had theirs for a few years now. They love them. I am not a fan of the motorized ones. They seem dangerous to me! lol You know me...paranoid mom!

we have one hand-me down Razor scooter now, and they all prefer it over their 3 wheeled scooters. I picked up three new Razors when TRU had them on sale for $19.99 a couple months ago; my earliest Christmas shopping ever!

and they have to wear helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads when they scoot.

I have seven year olds and that have both scooters (not the razor) and bikes but they pick bikes and the scooters collect dust.

We have both the regular Razors and the motorized. We only have two motorized and the kids have to fight me for one. Gregory and I haul ass all over the neighborhood. It is seriously so much fun. We race each other to the park! Their classmate came over yeasterday after school and he told his mom it was the best day of his life!

LMAO. We still have that one too. Everyone fights over that one, but Greg usually wins, then he uses it to smash everyone on their bikes and Big Wheels. He is a kook.
