#1624, "AM and PM Kindergarten ??"
|
I really would like my GGG to each have their own kindergarten class. But the only way that would be possible would be to have some going AM and some PM. Has anyone ever tried it? I'll have a 1st grader also next year so I'll be at the bus stop lots.
Thanks.

Hi there, My bbb's are in kindergarten now. I wanted them in their own classes too. In our town we can choose public montessori, french immersion and traditional. I wanted them in MOntessori but there's only two classes so, I put one in french. He's a really good reader and I thought he'd do great. Thing is he's in half day and the other two are in full day (no choice, that's just the way they did it). I thought he would love having a half day with just me and having all the toys to himself. So, I had a few playdates for him, but he wasn't happy. He missed his brothers, was bored (something I never heard any of them say) and didn't think hanging out with me was very much fun I wound up putting him in extended day 3 days so he stays all day and he's much happier.
My point for you is, it was hard to have one doing something different (which is what we'll happen when you have one in am/ and two in pm.
It's hard, especially when they're all the same sex. I wanted my guys to have their own friends and their own experience. I am very happy with that part of this experience. They tell their own stories and aren't a "triplet" in that class.
Good luck. PEggy Peggy mom to Tricia 19 Lyndsay 18 Sydney 12 Millie 10 and Robert, Julian and Max 9/2/03 @ 36wks http://lilypie.com>![]()

We also had the am/pm choice. I chose to keep mine together in pm kinder for many reasons--one of which was that I had two additional kids (one younger and one in high school), so driving back and forth to the elem. school four times a day was not really a viable option.
With that being said, I do not think being together for kinder was an issue for mine. They were all split in first and have been split 2/1 since then. They don't care if they are together or apart and neither do I. I ask their teachers to place them based on the needs of the individual child--and the teachers have placed them in the 2/1 split each time. I do not want one to get a lousy teacher simply because they have a brother/sister already assigned to the teacher that would have been best for him/her. I want the best teacher for the child--regardless of their where their sibling is.
Honestly, they all have separate friends and their own stories, but they also have shared friends. They have very different interests and personalities, and their teachers have told me that they would never even guess that they are siblings, much less triplets. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't kill yourself to separate them. That will come soon enough.
