My triplets are now six years old and we still put them in bed at seven. I am thinking that we need to work on adjusting their bed time to 7:30 or eight

so how old is your gang and what is their bed time

Hi,

Mine are 5 1/2 and we still put them to bed at 7 pm as well. I've tried playing around with the time, but I find that if I put them to bed later, they still wake up at the same old time. So, as rushed as it feels some evenings, 7 pm seems to be their natural bedtime. It's nice to have the whole evening to ourselves too.

My girls are 6 now and their bedtime is usually 8 or 8:30pm to wake at 6:30 or 6:45 am - no naps in the afternoon.

GOOD LUCK!

Rosemarie if it isn't broke don't fix it!!!!! LOL

My gang is 8 and in the 2nd grade. I try for 8:00 but it's usually 8:30 before lights are out. My DH works later so if we do 8:00 he gets to spend no time with them. If I could have 7:00 I would so take it!!! lol I think they need the sleep. Not to mention that is my down time! We have to get up at 6:30 for school. So the definitely need to be in bed no later than 8:30.

My guys were 6 in July. We have been doing 8pm bedtime for a while now. It works for us only because we homeshool and don't have to get up at a certain time. They usually wake up between 7 and 8am.

Lately, we have been getting them to bed closer to 9. That is pushing it a little and I find they are sometimes cranky the next day.

My kids are 6 years old and they go to bed at 7:30pm. Sometimes they go to bed at 7pm if they seem really tired and on the weekends we will let them stay up late if they are behaving well. They are NEVER up later than 7:30pm on school nights. They get up at 6:30am for school and they really do better on the nights they go to bed at 7pm. Personally, if they are falling asleep when you put them to bed, then I would leave it that way.

I have 6 yr olds and their bedtime is between 7 and 7:30, depending on how quickly I can get them to bed. I need my evenings. As it is I stay in their room until everyone falls asleep, usually by 8:00 - 8:15.

Mine six year old (and four year old) go to bed between 7:30 and 8pm. They wake up between 6:30 and 7am. They are not cranky.

In the summers, it's difficult to get out of the pool before 8pm and we have a pretty busy social schedule now. I can tell you that my kids get more sleep than about 80 percent of their peers from talking to the other moms!!!! Triplet moms are the sleep nazis for sure!

Our kids are 6 and their bedtime is 8:30. They get up about 7:15. We are so lucky IF they fall asleep before 9:30!! Some nights are SO frustrating with all the horsing around that they do. How they are not more tired is beyond me. I would love it if they went to sleep earlier but all they do upstairs is horse around if they are put to bed earlier.

When we had #5 we had to stagger them, so T goes down at 7. At 7:10 I get the trips (now 6 yrs) organized and ready for bed. They can read until 7:30 when it's lights out. Jack goes to bed at 8, but he would be better off at 7:30 - he ABHORS the idea of going to bed at the same time as his little brothers.

My boys will be 6 in April and they still go to bed at 7pm. I will keep this time for as long as I can. They are usually asleep by 8pm (they all share a room, so lots of talking going on). I drive them to a neighboring school district, so we need to be up at 6am to get ready and leave the house at 7:30am. Keep the early bedtime as long as you can. Sometimes having that alone time in the evening to look forward to is the only thing that keeps me sane throughout the day, lol!

Our girls are little over a wk older than yours and they are in bed by 730-745. Then up at 645 for school. We start baths at 630-7, pick clothes for the next day, read a 1-3 books(depending on what time it is) and then in bed. On weekends we try to let them stay up later but by 830 they are falling asleep on the couch. When summer comes, I always call it their summer hours, sometimes it's close to 10 or later depending on what we are doing. If I know that we are doing something special later that night, I will put them down for a nap. And will still get a 2-3 hr nap out of them.

If your schedule works best right now than don't change it. Ours right now no matter what time we put them to bed they are still up at the crack of dawn. Good luck, like anything else it's a trial and error kind of thing.

We are strict about bedtimes and some of my friends think it's great and others think I'm nuts. I could care less what anyone thinks cause I live with my kids and know what they need. Their bed time for a while now has been:

6 PM start night time routine

6:30ish- lights out

Between 6:45 and 7 PM asleep.

Awake between 6-6:15 AM.

NO naps during the day.

I can be flexible on weekends (non school nights, holidays, summer vacation). Still, though, my own kids fall asleep close to the time we usually set up for them.

This works for us.
