#2178, "Hello Again!"

Ok so it's been a long while since I've been online at home and able to get on here. I just wanted to update things. I just moved into a new townhome with the girls. We are so very happy here! the girls are finishing up first grade and fourth grade. We are looking forward to a great summer! I'm contemplating splitting up my trio for second grade. The teacher seems to think the girls are doing well together in the same room and said that hey would be fine together again next year. My only concern is that the girls are all on different levels. I would love to put Brigid in a split 2/3 class, Caroline in a straight second grade and Abby in a split 1/2 class. I'm just not sure how they will deal with being separated. And truly I'm not sure how I will deal with three separate homework assignments, spelling words, etc. I would love any comments on this. My oldest is going into 5th grade. I can't believe it!!

Also some great news! I am published! Well my first article for a magazine that is. I wrote about finding the right childcare fit. And then the magazine put my girls on the cover!!! Here is the link: www.todaysfamilymag.com It's a local magazine. My girls loved the photo shoot although it did take almost two hours to get that photo.

Looking forward to being on here more often!

Hooray for the internet connection! I just recently started getting back on here. (I'd lost my login info.)
I didn't know you were considering splitting. I have my request forms filled out for next year already that involves keeping mine together again (after consulting with the teachers).
See you Wednesday!

Your article is very well written; a lot of great points regarding day care.

How exciting to have your children on the cover, too!

Hi!

My kids are almost through with 1st grade as well but they have been in separate classes since 4 years old/preK.
My kids never had issues being apart. But I know BBG is totally different from GGG.
For 2nd grade I may consider putting two together. Academically they are all doing so well but having had them in 3 classes it was hard for me to keep up at times. Throw a 2 year old in the mix along with sports and after school stuff and its so hectic.
I have 1 that i really don't want with the others at all because he is very competitive and I can just hear him saying " I did better than you" to the others all day long and I don't want that.
If you choose to separate I am sure they will do just fine.

Kristina my gang is in 2nd Grade and this is the first year that they have been split up. The reason being was they were all on different academic levels. They have always done perfectly fine being together and honestly I would have preferred to keep the together. But it didn't work that way and they have been absolutely FINE in separate classes. They actually really enjoy it! I think for us it all worked out for the best. In hindsight it was time. They get a break from each other and have a chance to just be who they are as individuals and not "The Triplets". They still have PE and lunch together so it's not like they don't see each other all day. The worst part of it is dealing with 3 different teachers & homework. BUT...if I had 3 kids in different grades I would be dealing with that anyway. And they are in the best classes for each of them academically. Wouldn't be fair to my kid who struggles to be with the one who is advanced....kwim?

Good luck with your decision. I am sure they will be fine either way!

Great job on your article!!!
