My pits started sweating just reading this.
OK. I think you're totally nice to consider this. And with other Moms helping, you could pull it off.
We've just been going to all girl parties and thankfully, they haven't been too huge because it's just been their afternoon class.
And that's exactly what I plan to do for their birthday in July; just invite their class of girls.
As long as you totally prepare in advance, have easy food and snacks and have parents sticking around to help, it can be done.
You could even get a clown or magician; something for them to stay put and be entertained, KWIM? Not sure I could be the entertainer for such a big group. I would want to clap my hands together and announce: OK, kids! Let's sit down and watch Quacky the Clown!

We had a luau last summer and it was a blast! The kids roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire put, there was a pinata, limbo, etc. I had leis for everyone I found on clearance the winter before. I made a cake that looked like a sand castle. Kids were asked to dress accordingly, and so many kids (and parents) did. The party went on into the night and the police were called (yep, for a 6-year-old party). Oh! Food - cut up fruit and veg, cheese and crackers. (plus hot dogs and s'mores) SIMPLE. It was so wild it al went by pretty quickly adn then it was over. PHEW. But FUN. Ali Jack, 8 1/2 Abraham, Dylan and Zane 6 1/2 and now . . . . Tobias, new last June!

Thanks for the replies! Lots of stuff to think about (and I love the idea of a camping/luau theme).
I know what you mean, Lisa, about getting all sweaty just thinking about it, LOL. I'm still REEEALLY on the fence about this, but my girls have a winter birthday, right smack dab in the middle of when it's all ice and wind. They LOVE camping more than anything in the world, so a summer party with some kind of outdoorsy theme would be something I know they'd love and remember.
Thanks, again for the ideas! (And Kelly: loved the pics of the party and invites!) Loren GGG Jan.2005 @ 28wks

Go for it! We have a skating party for three classes plus parents for the February birthday, and have done it for two years.
Yours would be mostly outside (are you gonna rent a portapotty?) so the more the merrier. Are the girls going to get presents? A pinata is lots of fun. The parents will help if you let them know what you need. I bet it is a tradition in the making.
