#2440, "Is it getting harder in the morning???"

I have noticed that it is getting harder to get them ready every morning. It seems the closer we get to the end of school, the more I have to yell and remind. Why is that??? They are only in kindergarten, so I am not sure they understand the concept of summer vacation. They still love to go to school, but it is a total fight in the morning. Are they just sick of it, or does it actually have something to do with school ending?

Maybe they're sensing summer is coming and they're forgetting their routine!

I have no idea. Just chiming in to tell you we've been in the afternoon class all year so we never got used to the morning routine, but we will next year!

I'm excited about seizing the day with our new morning routine, but OMG. They have to be to school at 8:15 and this whole year they've been getting UP at 8:15.

So, I think it's gonna hurt a little especially after summer time fun, but I hope we transition nicely.

Good luck. You only have a few more days.

Lisa

Lisa,

My kids never did preschool or daycare before kindergarten and they were used to getting up at 8:30 or 9 in the AM. It was such a transition for us because they have to be outside ready for the bus by 7:55am. Oh boy!!!!! However, they did really well and up until about 2 weeks ago, we very rarely had a problem getting everyone out the door.

Good luck with the transition next year!!!

Definitely it's the end of the school year and summertime. I find that my girls are harder to get up in the morning because they are having a harder time going to bed at night. It is staying lighter at night and mine just cannot hardly go to bed on time anymore. Hang in there, school is almost out!!
