#2771, "Need fresh ideas for 7 year old playdates"

Now that the weather is getting cold, I need some new ideas for inside playdates. My bgb do go outside but when they are frozen through I need something to keep them going inside. Any ideas?

Also for 7 - 8 year olds, how long do you have friends stay over?

Thank you,

Donna Proud Mom to Tyler, Samantha, Zackary - 7 years old soon to be 8!!!!!!

A treasure hunt. You could either go with a pirate theme and a map or you could go with a detective theme and clues--solve a clue that takes you to the next clue. At the end there is a prize that will keep them busy--a craft (make a plate, building set etc) or something.

Last weekend we played "capture the flag" inside the house. We made small flags with paper, markers, glue and straws. Then hid them in the house and searched for each others flags.

We made a pirate treasure chest with a shoebox, a black marker, brown paint, construction paper and glue. You could hide "booty" (a snack or something in it) hide the box and let the kids hunt for it.

Freeze dance is always good. An exercise DVD--Tae Bo for kids, some dancing video to get them up and moving is good.

I loved all of the ideas the poster gave you! Anyone else have some good ones? I'd like some more ideas too.

We have done the pirate hunt, warm/cold hide object game, of course hide and go seek! I would love something creative and elaborate and also something easy without much time to put it together.
