#2928, "Are you sad Kindergarten is over?"

I can't believe how misty I am about Kindergarten coming to a close. We had such a fantastic start to the school experience that I'm a little sad it's going to end.

Our teachers were fabulous. The classroom and lessons were beyond my expectations. It was just a perfect start.

And I don't want my sweet babies to grow up!

I was so happy to see kindergarten end. I was just really happy to go back to our non scheduled life. That was all I could see. LOL This year, I can't believe my little babies are getting ready to be 2nd graders. This is the one that is leaving me with a tear. They had their 1st grade concert tonight, and I was so teary it was crazy.

Yes, I am sad to think that their Kindy year is almost done. Another bittersweet milestone! I am not sad about the amount of work that we get a break from. Our K teacher kicked the classes butts. They were really pressed hard!

I am excited that they are moving on to 1st grade. My sister teaches first grade there, and she is awesome. Total teacher of the year! They will have her, so good things ahead for them. I will be totally sad when that year is over.

For me I just get sad that all of these milestones happen so darn quickly!!!

I'm with ya on this one! My twins finish up kindergarten in three weeks and my trio is finishing second grade. Sniff, sniff!! Harder yet is that third grade is in another building so they won't be together anymore. Kindergarten was amazing this year (and for the record, they were late summer birthdays so I held them back and started them at six). I did the same with the triplets and wouldn't change a thing. I agree with the PP; the years fly by!!

Well...I must admit that the first five years of thier life was the slowest in my life. I guess I just needed that break from all the demands from infancy to kindergarten.
When my girls were in kindergarten..I was on a high for a good month. My girls were in school for the first three hours and to me that was just plain luxury.
I loved it when they went into grade 1. Six hours to myself...I finally could get my house into some kind of order.
Now...they're going into grade three this fall. I must admit..time has really flown since they have started school. Now...they are at an age ( eight years old) where they are getting to be lots of fun.

I've met each school year end with mixed emotions. Hard to believe my "babies" are growing up, and yet glad to have the freedom of summer. I remember when they were babies thinking we had SO LONG until they started school, and in a FLASH my boys finished their sophomore year today, and are now JUNIORS!!! It goes by in the blink of an eye, and in two years they will be off to college. Enjoy these days, as they will be young adults before you know it!

I was sad because I'm going to miss all the other kids and the teachers over break! AND because I loved the kids having some kind of regular schedule, not to mention having time to myself during the day. Now our schedule feels so random and hectic.

Plus it was nice to give the girls lots of one-on-one time with their classmates.

Thankfully we live in one of two small communities that feed our district, so we're neighbors with quite a few of the kids and will see them around. I wonder how many more years it'll be "cool" to be the volunteer mom in the classroom...

It is a shock to see how fast they are growing up. I actually got a bit more teary eyed when they finished 1st grade this year. It seems like they just grew SO MUCH more this year than last. They went from reading words at the end of kindy to chapter books at the end of 1st grade.

They don't consider themselves to be little kids anymore, and I have to say that in a lot of ways they aren't little. They "get" so many more things than they used to...the last time DH tried to spell something for me, DD said what he'd spelled almost before he finished saying it.

As for getting the house in order while they are at school, I'm still waiting for that to happen. It's a bit overwhelming to try to tackle 7 years of "I'll get to it later, when the kids aren't asking me for something". After all, it will still be there tomorrow...but the kids will have grown that much more.

I guess my biggest question is which is sadder, the last day of school or the first? It is hard to not see them all day, but also can be hard TO see them all day. KWIM?
